Mattel doing Back to the Future

I'm curious if they will be Mego-style since they did the Ghostbusters...

    Mattel secures license to BTTF

Plus, how many figs would they really make?
    Marty
    Doc Brown
    Marty's girlfriend
    Marty's Parents (young & older)

    A delorean...hmmmm

      Marty and Doc? Of course
His girlfriend and parents? Nah, no one cares.
Biff is also a must have

According to the other thread they were going for 6" and 12". Hoping the 12" will be along the lines of the cloth outfit Movie masters Zod and Ghostbusters.

Although if they do follow the success of the GB, we can always hold out hope for 8" Re-megos like their animated GB line.

Doc with Einstein. Marty, Biff, and Marty's Mom as a teenager. Not really any other characters that matter except maybe Marty's dad as a teenager. Hope Doc comes with the collander head gear he wore in the movie.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

It's a finicky line to take on, much as I love the film. Smart money would concentrate on Part II for Hoverboard Marty, Pitbull Griff, Yellow suit/silver sunglasses 2015 Doc.

The only figures I see as "safer choices" might be 1985 clothes Marty, Mind Reading Helmet Doc with Einstein. MAYBE you can get away with stuff like Plutonium suit Marty, 1955 Dance Marty, or Buford Tannen. Even Plaid suit 1985 or 50s bully Biff feels like a stretch.

We'll see a licensed mattel hoverboard or a car for the 6 inchers but I don't think Mattel can pull off the character selection mini-mates did.

Mattel should go back to the past and make figures they once cared about.
