Martian Manhunter Pickle

So my wife doesn't understand why I would want to buy the DC Universe Martian Manhunter last night if I am anticipating the EMCE Mattel one. Does anyone think supporting the OTHER DC lines from Mattel makes an impact on the Re-Megos at all?

It's like having a New Yourk style pizza tonight and having a Chicago deep dish pizza tomorrow night. Both are pizza but they are completely different meals.

I would think the more popular sold figures in other lines would help in their decision on who to make. If a character doesn't sell well and is a "peg warmer" I don't think they would want to make a Retro-Action figure of it.

I think every collector picks and chooses what they buy based on their own criteria.

It's gotten past the point where I can realistically collect every figure in most of the DC toylines these days, so I've focused on my favourite characters. So I'd pretty much buy Spider-Man, Plastic Man or Mister Miracle in as many multiple formats as I could get my hands on.

For other characters, it would have to be based on depiction and format. For Martian Manhunter, I'd pick and choose. I generally skipped him in the Total Justice/JLA, Infinite Heroes, DCU Classics, and JLU, but I'd get him in Re-Mego, DC Direct JLI (Kevin Maguire's version), and old school Super Powers.

Maybe Mattel has some wierd spreadsheet comparing DC Universe Classis to Retro Action.

Maybe OK I go and collect DC Universe and it widens the ratio between it and the Retro Action.

Do you think Toy Lawyers think like that?
