    Good/bad news for Ghostbuster fans

    The good news is that the prices for the SDCC green ecto-plasm Peter have come way back to earth.

    The bad news is the same, because it shows a declining interest in these figures.

    SDCC 2010 MATTEL GREEN CHASE GHOSTBUSTERS VENKMAN - eBay (item 140464096714 end time Oct-16-10 2050 PDT)

    I think the quality issue has really slapped this particular figure. The extreme looseness of the legs is a real deal breaker. And honestly slapping the "For Adult Collectors" label on it doesn't make it any better to me. Yes a lot of collectors will keep these on the card but others (like me) also like to display them loose which is a real chore considering the leg issue.

    I do believe though that if Mattel will get the bodies worked out the success of all the new 8" lines would be guaranteed. Someone in the know PLEASE encourage Mattel to outsource their bodies to EMCE!

        I love it when scalpers get stuck holding product! Don't know if these guys are scalpers--but judging from the Boba Fett logo--I'm guessing they probably are. Either way as long as the company has sold the figures--how can that be bad for sales? They don't get a piece of inflated prices and all the krapp that buying action figures has become...stuff that just generally ****es me off and must lead to actual kids having rotten Christmases.

        Have I mentioned that I absolutely abhorr the people who wait at Toystores etc. for the new action figures and then buy them all up so they can resell them on E-bay, etc.? Scum of the earth if you ask me...

          Because it could indicate a declining interest in the figures, like the OP said?

          Declining interest ----> Declining sales

          I'm not fond of scalpers particularly but I see them as an inevitable continuum of the supply chain. People will sell and re-sell what others want to buy. That's sort of how the whole system works. And holiday anomalies like Tickle-Me-Elmo aside, there would be no scalpers if there weren't adult collectors clamoring for toys.
