They're both great deals..(got mine with amazon), and if you can't find them that's the way to go. On the other side, you can't pick out your figure's condition. For those that want some financial advice, get an amazon credit card. Now while I don't believe in credit cards(I was Dave Ramsey before I knew who he was), what I do is use the card for every purchase I make(gas,food,etc) then pay the entire month off(same as using a debit card if you have self control). Amazon then sends me 25.00 gift certificates (alot by the way), so I didn't even pay for any of my retro figures.

Y'know, I just came back from my local Toys'R'Us and they've still only got a smattering of Lex and Sinestro on a peg. The undead help there don't seem to have any clue when they'll be putting in Wave 2, but they've also got a huge Star Trek movie section, so I'm guessing I;m not at one of the better TRUs.

Ha! I agree with that sentiment. I don't know what is going on with their store sets but TRU doesn't seem to "get it" sometimes. Trek is a great example... the nu Trek stuff has been hogging up a lot of footage even though much of it has been clearance-priced since last Christmas. Meanwhile new stuff like the Retro-Action figures are merchandised really thin on the pegs. I mean, what is up with that?!

I look forward to the day when i walk in and see multiple assortments/waves taking up at least six pegs simultaneously. I hope that happens... It would be amazing to see!

Without mentioning names, I can say that there is a certain frustration among some of our partners and clients about how TRU stocks their shelves. When they try to describe it, it's like hearing Lovecraftian geometry -- impossible to understand and eventually drives you insane.

That said, whatever algorithms they apply clearly work, as they continue to order and fuel a lot of the collector market nowadays. Forums such as this which provide a broader look at the market are obviously an invaluable resource -- otherwise the collector stuck with a TRU branch like mine would be completely bewildered.
