'Cos I believe, I believe that I do,
Yes, I can see I believe that it's magic
If your mission is magic your love will shine true."

It always amazes me how us older collectors wish for the less-known characters rather than the well-known ones. The reality is that the success of this line depends on how many units are sold and Mattel could probably sell more of their fifith version of Batman than the first Kamandi figure in 8 inch scale.

Look at those WWE figs....there must be 100 different Rey Mysterio figures. While I'd love to see the little known characters as well, I'd rather see the line make 35 waves so I'm more than willing to tolerate as many "predictable" character choices as they have.

Solomon Grundy and other SuperFriends guys are on my wish list, but no matter who is released (even Guy Guardiner - yuck), I'll still be excited to see the new ones coming!

How do you think 35 waves of DC characters... (ie, 140 figures in all) could exist unless they tap into C- and D-tier characters? Unless you want 20 variations of Batman, 20 variations of Superman etc... if so, have fun, I'm not buying them.

I understand what you are saying regarding the success of the line and that they need to be selective with character choices, but 35 waves and no offshoot characters? Really?

I think he's saying that if the price of getting wave to wave 35 with Clock King is having to put up with Fractal Armor Batman, it's a price worth paying.

The concern is that if there AREN'T endless version Batmen and Supermen in the wave, the line may not sell well enough to even GET to line 35. Because the oddball unknown characters don't sell in sustainable numbers (and the batvariants DO), no matter how bad we all want a factory-made Killer Moth and Ambush Bug reMego.

Well, these are the retro-action characters I'd like to see, and they aren't really that 'lesser-known', either:

                        Lois Lane
                        Jimmy Olsen
                        Perry White
                        Commissioner Gordon
                        Alfred Pennyworth

                        Just to name a few.
"...You can capture the Klingon & bring him back to the Enterprise!"

Lois Lane and Commisioner Gordon would be really great in this format!

It's funny you say that, because just like I'm the guy that's only interested in Dusty Rhodes, my fingers are crossed for Hourman (or as I mentioned earlier, Adam Strange). I would have gotten a Superman, but haven't run across one (or Green Arrow) at TRU.

UPDATE: 10/01/10, just ran across the only RA Superman I've seen at retail and snagged him.
