    a) give us a clear indication on the direction we need to go
    b) identify a minority who will then have the benefit of knowing that the product will be different than what they prefer, and they can make judgments on whether to buy and customize to their preference or just not buy at all. and it will also minimize (eliminate, we hope?) the vitriol, which to me is the most discouraging part of working on what should really be a fun project.

And re: Batman, you're right...hemming those scallops was going to be a nightmare.
I 100% agree. Look at the contrast of opinions with each Wave? That's not just certain groups of people either. My opinion alone is higher on Wave 3 than any of the previous offerings. Let me just throw this out there as food for thought -
The simplicity of Mego's were in the body and outfits, with heads you could pop off like a cork. Sure we had many with generic head sculpts like Batman and Aquaman. But then you also had some really good ones too like Green Arrow and Green Goblin that had some obvious effort put into them. But the flip side to that comparison is we no longer live in the 70's. Retro Action figures are NOT economy action figures like Mego was. You can't go into Kmart like you could in the 70's and buy 20 Mego's and only spend $60.00. And adjusting for inflation won't get you there either. These are still high end priced. So at some point you have to abandon every fine detail of nostalgia and start looking at the marketplace. Your competition, friendly as it may be, is already trending towards better detailed head sculpts. And that's to make themselves more relevant against the truly high end figures like Hot Toys, or middle range DC Direct deluxe figures. The consumers buying these figures are from the Mego era. THAT is your market. So I guess my question is, "Why wouldn't you?" Is there REALLY anyone out there who is going to complain about a detailed head sculpt? Is that going to take away from it being Mego-like? Of course not. It just means you have a better looking figure and people can feel better served for paying the current price for it. It just makes all the sense in the world from every perspective I can give it.

Sadly...out of Wave 3 & Wave 4...the only Figure I see myself buying is Wonder Woman.

Counting the Matty Exclusive GA...I bought 7 out of 9 Figures of Wave 1 and Wave 2. So...I am a Fan.

that sounds rather intense, but I would love to be in on that.

I think you will change your mind when you see the production Shazam. I've been silent on the issue but it's not like I haven't taken the many postings on the prototype into account.

This is good to hear since wave 4 was looking like the first wave where I wouldn't be picking up the complete set. Here's to hoping the Big Red Cheese is much improved in production.

No offence meant of course. I don't have the completest syndrome, I just collect my favorite Characters...but then I again who doesn't?

I would do away with the rubber band system, it's just not neccessary and is more trouble than it's worth, IMO.

I have never owned a Shazam figure of any kind. Yet he's a character I've always wanted a figure of. I think I've just been waiting for the right one to come along. I'm hoping Retro Shazam will be the one.
