    Variation/error on the retro batman

I found one without the eyebrows painted on. It was a really nice exampel otherwise so i grabbed him with the other 3. I may still get one with the painted eyebrows as I like him that way too but to me this one without the eyebrows looks more megoy.

Sadly it appears to be only another production flaw. I just really wish they would tweek this line and either fix it or charge a price that reflects the quality.

I think the price does reflect these figures. I say that because the little figures that mattel makes and sells every where is like 6.00(or is it 7.00) and that's just a little bitsy figure and the dc direct are this price or close to it and I think these are way better, even with the flaws and they(DC direct figures) are sold everywhere too. I think the price is fair for the these figures IMO.

Aren't most Mego variations production changes or flaws? What's the problem?

Perhaps it's an intentional variant to make you buy the same figure twice.

I cant tell for sure looking at mine, but I'm thinking the blue eyebrows arent painted on, but part of the cowl. In other words, I am suggesting the paint mask had the eyebrows cut into it. That means the paint mask must have been damaged allowing black paint over the eyebrow section...or they were having issues with overspray onto the eyebrow section, so they reworked the paint mask to get around that. Either way, I'm betting all the later made Bat cowls will have this problem.

It would be cool to be able to find these in a TRU and maybe see these first hand!

IMO the Mego flaws are charming for the sake of nostalgia. Modern goofs happen but I'd rather see some of the quality issues fixed. And believe me even though I'm sounding all "negative nancy" and such it's just that I really don't want to see the line get killed off due to those problems. I don't think that people will continue to shell out the MSRP if they're not fixed or at least acknowledged and addressed by Mattel. Again this is just my opinion.

Mattel Batman still looks like crap with or without eyebrows

Well that idea worked on me as I just bought another one with the eyebrows bought from another TRU express bring on the variants! I hope Wonder Woman had a variant too so I'll have an excuse to own 2 of her!!
