    Dark Shadows Barnabas repaint

Just got my DS set in yesterday...LOVE the Werewolf, not too thrilled with Angelique, and Barnabas needed saving.

His eyes are all wrong IMO. I repainted them a nice dark brown, added a bloodshot wash, and did some additional shading around and under the eyes and cheekbones. It really looks a lot more like Jonathan Frid now.

I like it. Really spruces up the character.

Not being very familiar with the character, I looked online for his image and he does seem to have brown, or at least dark, eyes. Interesting...

        Repaint, looks great!

The nice thing about this line is that they are so well done to begin with. The custom potential with these characters is endless. Barnabas could also be put in period accurate clothes to coincide with the 1700 story line or the 1800 story line.
          Thanks for the compliments guys!

These are really nice figures. The attention to detail on Barnabas' outfit is amazing. I love the cane...it's superb. I hope we'll see a period costume Barnabas, as well as a human and old man version.

I wonder why they would give him blues eyes to begin with?

Excellent repaint, dude! It looks A LOT more like Jonathan Frid now.

You'll probably have to do the same thing for Angelique, Josette and Quentin when the latter two come out.

The paint job that they did is just watery looking on Angelique.

This proves what Michael Crawford says about a good paint job improving a good sculpt. Nice work sir. Nice work.

It really is amazing how sometimes something really minimal and simple can make that huge of a difference. To me, they look night and day. Great job, man!
