the ones with a * are ones Mattel has re-done. I really wish (hope) all of the others above get done soon (well Tarzan probably not and Lex Luthor made up for Mr. Mxyzptlk I guess) still I can't see Joker,Penguin and Robin not getting made by Mattel. They were some of the most popular Megos of them all (with the exception of Batman and Superman) and they (along with Hawkman,who Mego never made) are the ones I want most. I'm hoping they are done in waves 5 and 6. I'm loving these even if the bodies are not perfect.

are you talking all encompassing 8" ? i.e. Dukes, Waltons, Mystery Astro, OMBC, etc etc

and all the eMCe related items like T. Zone, Dark Shadows, Batboy, etc etc etc (again).

It has been an amazingly impressive year for the eMCe corp., but they have not quite caught up to the numbers Mego release. Not quite yet; but I am sure they will if they keep it up.

I just got 2 of the Twilight Zone figures and maybe thought EMCE related figures are catching up to Mego.

You left out the 4 Teen Titans and Isis in your count.

If you include Tarzan and Isis - since both were being published
by DC Comics at the time of the MEGO production - the count
is 23 with the alter-egos.

When wave 6 is released, we will have made 29 - if you don't
want to count Sinestro in his Sinestro Corp costume as a separate
figure, it would be 28. This includes the 4 matty GLs coming out
in early 2011 in preparation for the Green Lantern movie.

wasn't there a hero post 9.11 that Doc sold? I think there were a few of those types of characters. Are those considered eMCe?

Plus the Beastly movie figs and the Lost characters and the Venture boys. Dexter figures too, tho they got the shaft or perhaps are just in limbo.

Still, Mego had sooo many non super hero lines. They still got good numbers. The 1975 yellow brick road catalog shows some sixty plus figures on it and it is missing the aliens from Trek, Willlers, FF, titans, OMBC, happy days...... sheesh. lotta stuff there and not there.

But; eMCe is still hitting it and hitting it hard. Considering the pace of sales is quite different in today's market than it was in the 1970's I am sure they will ultimately surpass the Mego 8" count. And I hope people keep on buyin' them.

I always forget the Teen Titans. I actually in all honesty never saw these in stores. I didn't even know about them til years after Mego was long gone. I think it's great that Mattel will make more DC characters then Mego...but more don't mean better. For me I love having missing characters like Flash,Green Lantern and hopefully Hawkman...but if Mattel doesn't make every DC character Mego did (with Tarzan and Isis the exception) then as far as I'm concerned they will never beat Mego...just tie them. Unlike some people I don't think these new figures can be displayed well with Megos. They look very different. Bodies are worse on the Mallet ones but outfit designs are far worse on the Megos. I've seen pics of them together and they just don't look good together.IMO Thats not a bad thing. I like having two different 8" cloth lines. I hope eventually I can say the Mattels line is the better of the two...and I will say that if and when I see the rest of the characters still left to do. If Shazam and Green Arrow can be re-visited by Mattel then Joker,Penguin,Riddler,Robin,Catwoman,Batgirl and Supergirl all for sure deserve to be redesigned too. Every figure Mattel has done that Mego did have been way better then the originals (IMO) and I'd like to see what they can do with the remaining 7 still not recreated (I'm not including the Titans)

I wouldn't say the smaller bodies don't count, then that's like saying the original jawa doesn't fit the 1/4 inch line in Star Wars even tho it's part of the original set. Or R2 even. I think the full terminology is the scale of the line so it would include the little rascals etc.

I forgot about those sound cool. I need to visit the gallery.
