Probably "yes" men. I hate "yes" men. Don't be afraid to tell it how it is. Some think that the crap sandwich HAS to taste good because the company says so. WRONG!!!!

I wonder if anyone from Mattel even actually takes time to read some of these forums? It sure could have saved them a lot of grief from making bad and costly mistakes.

Agreed. EMCE Trek figures are great. Why not go with what worked. Mattel dropped the ball.

I think this is the most important thing anyone has said yet about the Mattel figures. I don't own any of the EMCE Trek figures yet, but I have seen them in the stores and I think that are amazing. I just didn't have the money when they came out and since the main characters are SO much like the Megos that I already have, I didn't feel the need to pick them up. Now that I think about it though, I might need to buy some of them just to support and excellent idea and their excellent execution. Go EMCE!

Good points Paul.
If I compare CTVT to Mattel...in my mind, it's apples vs oranges.
Mattel has been in the game far longer, so unintentionally I place Mattel on a higher pedastal when it comes to quality.

It should also be noted, on the 8 figs I got in from Joe, none of them have the drippy stuff on the inside of the bubble.

EMCE Trek figs set the bar very high in my opinion and $20 a fig didn't leave buyers remorse...Mattel is not up to par, and they should be.

Do I have buyer's remorse? Maybe a little. But you have done a great job getting this started and I view my out of pocket expense as "helping the cause".

don't bet on it
Drop the price at least $8 per fig and I bet 99% of the knit picking mentioned on this site disappears.
I don't think the nit picking would stop - and I would be disappointed if
it did. Nit Picking is what we do. The devil is in the details and while
you can't control everything, you do your best to improve earlier issues
in later production.

CTV retailed their figures for $15 but that didn't keep anyone from
pointing out the flaws and their disappointment. My only request
is that comments are kept civil. It's hard to convey useful info
from "this sucks".

Ultimately none of us, myself included, can determine the fate of this
line. It's Mattel's call - based on total consumer response, and the
internal direction of the company - but we can help to improve it.

The Toys R Us in Times Square was filled with Wave 1, but no Wave 2 (though I could have missed them). I wen 2 blocks away to Midtown Comics and they had a bunch of Bats but nothing else. I picked up a pair.

Despite the complaints I have about Mattel's designs, poor quality control issues, etc...I'm still at Toys R' Us every Tuesday morning on shipment Day.
