I bet that they're holding off on Robin and other Batman stuff for the end of next year. If they are doing stuff for the GL movie then how much more do you think they will for the next Batman movie in 2012. Also I think that's toward the end of the commitment with Mattel and so why not have great numbers for sales at the end to help appeall to the big whigs for another year or two run. Don't really care if Robin has a removable mask. I certainly hope for a smaller body though. That may be another reason they are holding off on him. I'm sure they will do a Scarecrow and Catwoman before it's thru!
Robin 8" tall. And I think on him I wouldn't mind the raised mask like Green Lantern. But if they choose to do a removable mask I certainly won't have a fit over it.

Honestly, I'm more interested in what villain they pair him with than any of the details about Robin himself (although I do hope he's shorter). My vote is Legion of Doom Scarecrow...but I certainly wouldn't complain if it were Poison Ivy!
I think it's entirely possible that the eventually released Robin won't have a removable mask. It could go either way, since Robin is complicated by the fact that Mego did a removable mask version. We also have hints that Mattel is shooting for a Removable Cowl policy for all figures, except that Green Lantern and Green Arrow both didn't have removable masks, and Black Manta didn't specifically because he wouldn't have fit in the package, and Flash doesn't appear to. So clearly it's a policy that's determined per-figure, and likely influenced by Mego's decisions for the character.
I actually think that most, if not all, head sculpts look better with a molded cowl/mask/helm, so removable headwear isn't make or break for me. I Also think that it would be cool if each figure had a secret identity head, and have let the Doc know this.
It would be pretty amazing if, say, the GL (or GA, or Robin) figure had some kind of separate sculpted mask that fit perfectly on the bare face and was coated with a post-it note kind of reusable adhesive so we could have Hal Jordan AND GL in the same figure. Impractical since the figure has white hands, but then we could use the same head to make a custom Secret Identity figure, or buy two to have one of each. This is the kind of removable mask I'd be okay with, assuming it wouldn't be too bulky. I'd imagine it'd be an easily lost accessory, so extras would have to be available - or even included - with each figure.
