Oh, then I'm definitely in. Mid eighties is retro to me

I might be one of those "non-70's folks" but I definitely DO NOT want to see the line dominated by Batman characters. However, there are several folks here that seem to want to see this line become Retro Batman Action. So, I totally agree with you on the point that Batman characters should not take over.

Heck yeah! I'll gladly make an exception for that!

Seems fair to me (modern choices in drips and drabs)....and because of this
there "is" no reason to panic.

But there'll be reason for "me" specifically to panic if this morphs in a
more modern than retro character line cause then there'll be a lot less
        for me to chose from.

I would see no problem with there being a Booster Gold, Lobo, Blue Devil, Harley Quinn, etc. I just hate the idea of limitations.
"limitations" are a moot point baecause MATTEL has already broken "that" straw... my hope is only that they keep those kinda choices at a minimum.

I am completely excited about Guy Gardner and the new Sinestro! This weekends news has revitalized my interest in this line (After almost losing faith over the Batman prototype).

Blue Beetle? Booster Gold? Harley flippin Quinn? Heck yeah! Bring em on!!

I assume you're talking about the protype for the BATMAN that
            had it's officiall release recently?

My question is "Aren't collectors that enjoy a choice from the late 80s (Guy)
or the 2000s (Yellow S.) also enjoying the 1970s (or early 80s) choices?"
'Cause, if so, then TWO audiences are being satisfied in that regard...
and two customers are better than one, eh?

One of the things I liked best about the 70s is that Batman was not
the center of the DC Universe. He was one of the major stars,
but Superman was just as important. They were each in five
              books a month.

In the past decade or so, it feels like the Batman universe has
taken over the DCU, making everyone grim and gritty.

I'm ecstatic about the additions to the line. I knew I would get jazzed once thre were figures that Mego never made and that I either never made or wasn't satisfied with my customs. Flash and Martian Manhunter are probably my 2 least favorite customs and the more obscure GL really gives me hope for the direction of this line.

I totally agree!! Keeping a bat-familay character in !wave per year should give the Mattel line impetus, but we need to see a lot of classic characters.
