That's a good point. Not "gloom and dooming" but between things like gold instead of yellow and doing modern characters, this line is already beginning to "jump the shark" for me... which is a shame and disappointing. This is my number one line right now, excitement-wise. I think Mattel should have stayed as retro as possible until they were through with all the A and B listers from the silver age. Seeing characters like Guy Gardner and Modern Sinestro just really kills my excitement for this line. DCUC is the place for modern versions of the characters and is a better place to do "justice" to the characters in the way that fans of these modern versions would be more likely to enjoy... and buy. I can see modern characters in the 8" retro line not selling and, consequently, choking the life out of the line. Hope not, though.

I love it all but maybe it is because I am a big fan of the now stuff and a fan of Mego so I like the combo. and when I click the links they are still working.

Does anyone think Jon and Darkseid are an odd pairing . I love them , but an odd choice to pair IMO.

I hate to be "that" guy, but I'm pretty sure I'm done with this line. No more money from me. All I see when I look at these announcements is Mattel's arrogance in keeping their crappy body and oversize accessories. So I see $300 + in figures, and another $100 in replacement parts I need to get to fix them. And with these modern figures, there are more custom accessories that will be impossible to "replace" with a proper alternative. What the heck am I'm going to do to fix those GIGANTIC Guy Gardner boots?

And seriously? No Robin, Joker, Riddler, Catwoman... but we get Black Adam, Darksied, Cheetah? It's not that I hate the characters but the insistence on doing a Hero/Villain is causing them to make some pretty bad character choices when there are still main vintage guys that could use a good updating.

Bad quality + Poor character choices + Custom accessories = I'm out.

you're entitled to your opinion. I'm still thrilled with the choices. I'd rather have a Darkseid than a second Robin. I already have one.

Love these choices, I'm glad we're FINALLY getting a Flash, and no problem with the new characters, To me they are more needed then re-dos of existing ones. I can wait on a Robin, Joker Catwoman, etc.
However, the GL exclusives, are an easy pass. The only GL's I like are Hal and Alan Scott. So characters I do not want plus the added frustration of ordering from Matty = No sale for me. But for those that are big GL fans, congrats...
