I just purchased the new Mattel Batman and was comparing it with the original Mego removable cowl one. Just was curious as to which Bruce Wayne sculpt people like more?

From what I've seen of it on here (havent seen it live and in person yet) the new sculpt doesnt really look like Bruce Wayne..of any era. the original looks like the 40's and 50' Bruce...so I vote for the original."Crayons taste like purple!"Comment

To me it also looks like he has a military haircut"...The agony of my soul found vent in one loud, long and final scream of despair..." - Edgar Allan PoeComment

Niether, I never did like the original Bruce wayne head and the Mattel version looks more like a villian (head would make a good Sandman or Norman Osborn w/the right color modifications). I decided to go with BK's generic head and/or my rotocast Mego shazam head...........See below! either head will make a viable Bruce wayne.
Shazam head as Bruce Wayne/Batman..................
BK's generic head.............

To me, most of the Retro Figures face sculpts look like kids including Bruce Wayne.
Seems ok because that look is kind of nostalgic.
For which I like the best, original or new one, actually I don't much care for either
If I ever get one i'll keep his mask on so it dont matterComment

It's a close call for me, but I think the new sculpt is just a bit better--as for the cowl, there is no question the new one is heads and shoulders above the original. As far as the slit in the back of the cowl goes, if you place the cape over the cowl, it will hold the slit together and give it an overall slimmer profile. That, and the ability to drape the cape over his shoulders due to its increased size goes a long way toward keeping his head in the cowl from looking too big.Comment
