Wave 2 let the bodyswapping begin...

Didn't get overly involved with these just yet. So, for now just simple body swaps...I used original Mego bodies, the forearms and hands from the Mattel figures were transplanted to the Mego bodies. Everything else is pretty much stock except I tossed the Mattel boots. Batman has original Mego boots. Black Manta I'm leaving without boots but I popped a pair of CHiPs boots on him to show what that would look like.

Couple of observations on the Mattel figures themselves, Batman and Two Face have plastic snaps like the Wave 1 figures. Aquaman and Black Manta however have metal snaps. Black Mantas body is completely black, not just the hands. The belts, as noted in another thread, have those little plastic things that usually hold price tags on clothing in the back to keep it in place and are adhered on the front using a substance like you would find holding your new credit card to the letter that they send you with it. I still do not like the cuff material but I can deal with it after tossing the bodies and boots. For those boiling and popping heads be extra careful with Black Manta as his neck and top of his head are 2 separate pieces glued together. Now on to the pics...

Excellent work! The difference in the figures is fairly dramatic. Much better presentation.

Aquaman looks much better now...the Neck line of the Costume seemed to low on the Mattel Body, plus his Trunks don't look like a Thong now.

Aquaman looks 100% better. Manta looks better bootless too.

Big difference --- for the better.

The Retro bodies look so nasty compared to this.

The Batman mask looks a lot better in these pix. Thx for posting!
If a Mego figure of God did not exist, it would be necessary for EMCE to invent him.

Million times better. And yes, no boots on Manta is the way to go.

Cool pix. They look much better. I wonder how Batman would look with a ZICA body for the more muscular look.

They all definitely look better; the skinny Mattel torso and the thick Bat neck simply don't mix. I think the ideal body for bats is a Zica, or one of my Boss muscle custom bodies.

And while I don't hate the Mattel boots, the traditional Mego boots do look much better.
