Got my set from Amok Time this morning. I haven't opened them, but the body issues with Series I are evident with this group as well. Boots are still thick and kind of clunky looking.

But, I have to say these figures look pretty good, overall. Much better than the prototype photos from ToyFair.

Two Face looks excellent to me. Couldn't expect a better-looking rendition of the character for the price. Love the head sculpt, especially the green side. Grade: A

Black Manta looks good too, but he's an easier figure to pull off. Grade: B

Aquaman I like. The head sculpt is better in person than the prototypes or most photos I've seen. The belt and A emblem are true improvements over the original. I like the scales on the shirt too. They look better in person than in the photographs. Grade; C

Batman, again, also looks better than photos portray. I can deal with the mask. The ears on the mask are too thick to liking, but probably couldn't be avoided. Certainly the cape could have been designed to look better around the cowl area. The cape is longer than the old mego cape, but it should have been even longer. It really should come down to the heal of the boot, imo, or the ankle instead of the calf. But it's an improvement over the original. Design of the emblem is excellent, but if I were going to play with the figure like I did with my megoes back in the 70s, it would probably be rubbed off in a month. Maybe less. Grade: C-

I would have graded Series 1 — Sinestro: B+, Luthor: B, Superman: D (flat head is terrible), Green Lantern: D- (Out or proportion head and misplaced logo ruin the figure for me).

Overall, I think the quality of Series 2 is better than series one. There is no flat-headed figure like Superman in series one. And all the heads are proportion to the bodies unlike Green Lantern in series 1.

If Series 3 turns out to be as much better as Series 2 is compared to Series 1, Mattel will be getting there with this line.

The big issue remains the bodies. They are still sorry pieces of plastic. But from the recent Q and A with Mattel, it doesn't seem like we are going to get any relief on that front.

Has anyone mentioned that Bats card has a choking hazard on it? Aquaman doesn't but bats does...apparently you can't choke on the trident but the cowl is deadly...lol. I thought it was neat that the card was printed with the warning, its not just a sticker.

    Retro wave 2 adventure

So I don't drive but I had a bug last night that I would adventure to amok time. I took the lirr to Hicksville and found a cool cabbie that waited when I ran in when they opened at 10. 10 came around and the gate was down the cabbie helped me ge their attention I think he was into the adventure.

Picked up the whole wave for 90 bucks with tax.
Cabbie rode me back to the lirr where I was back at union square where I can giggle at forbidden planets megoless shelves. But they did have the first new issue of Famous Monsters of Filmland!

So I have a bag with 4 wgsh and a new issue of FM.

Go to work by 3 even a quick stop at the pool at the health and racket club.
