I am a super nerd and proud of it. Back to the topic header, though. Went to Toys R Us in Wichita and an associate told me they will be in stock proballt Wednesday but no later than Friday. I can't wait. I think this second wave will outpace the first. Sinestro and Lex will be hitting the bargain bins soon.

If you buy a 20 figure from EMCE or Castaway do you need to replace the body? The Star trek figures were under 20 a piece and Castaways were 20. Gee why is their no complaints about that. Sorry if a figure can't stand there is something wrong. And docs custom stuff only cost so much because it isn't mass produced so your argument is null. But what ever, I am tired of the cult mentality around here, keep buying the broken toys. I will say no more.

Nobody complains about Docs stuff because the majority of the EMCE stuff was already put out before as Mego figures. What Mattel is doing are figures that Mego never did. Ask Doc how many pieces he needs before he can even think of tooling a part or head to get it reproduced part in China...it's not in the hundreds of thousands...but it is up there...so your saying they are not mass produced means you know nothing about what Doc had to do to get his repro parts done in China.

It's not a cult mentality that you have the problem with around here....it's the fact that these new Mattel figures ARE NOT MEGOS. If that's the case, then there is nothing that's gonna make you change your mind...but in the same sense don't keep bashing the Mattel figures for what they aren't...they aren't Megos and never will be. My offer still stands though...if you buy a Green Lantern and want it converted to a Type 2 Mego body I'll do it for you FREE. Hell, I'll even eat the shipping of the figure back to you. I'm not joking either...It's an easy conversion and the figures, when they are done, look like Megos. I'm nowhere near being a customizer here on the Museum...and these Mattel figures make me feel like one after I am finished kitbashing.

Hey, I didn't say I wasn't a nerd, I am. I just don't have rage about it, that's all. As for the "old lady" crack...yeah, I'm a 44 year old woman who was a kid, during Mego's heyday. AND PROUD OF IT!!

Knowing the way Diamond Distribution is with the Comic Stores...I would keep an eye on Toys R Us. Diamond is notorious for getting things to the stores later than a regular toy store like Toys R Us. It will also be cheaper at Toys R Us.

Amok Time - the store here on Long Island that they have arrived at - gets
them direct from Mattel. He had a problem getting his wave 1 figures,
so he might have gotten preference on wave 2.

I see auctions on ebay from sellers in California
so I guess the ship is being unloaded and trucked out.

TRU should be receiving their shipment now - I have no idea
how fast they can distribute to the stores.

Two-Face is an amazing-looking figure. Very nice! I'm not really into any DC characters apart from Batman, and the Batman figure looks pretty nice to me. He'll likely be the only one from these I get. I really like the head sculpt. The mask is a little funky, but not out of character for the styling of the toy. The big boots don't bug me.

That said, I really don't like Mattel's body, with its massive thighs and uncomfortable looking stance. If it won't ruin the costume and insignia, I'd swap it for a Zica body or something. Mattel really made a bad decision with those. I'd also rather have bigger glove hands or fists, which I'd probably add on my own to the figure. But no problem there with the normal blue hands. The universal part usage is understandable.

In the end, though, $20-$25 if far beyond what this very casual, undedicated collector will pay. $15 is my price point on something like this. But that's just me not really being into many super-heroes. (That's a fine price point for Trek or POTA or whatever in my book. Just typically not super heroes or me.)

Batman seems to look a lot better in real life than he did in those old prototype pictures.

Amok time has a killer deal on the wave 1 figs, as well as the new ones, i snapped a pic of the display but have to get it off the cell phone...
they were swooning over them, and just finished the display as I arrived, Is there such a thing as "Too many mego conversations"? I think not! They have the wave 1 and 2 side by side. when there are a few more waves, the displays will be bright and awesome! wave 3 needs to be green in color, or blue though to get a spectrum effect!
