Matty Exclusives

I had heard rumors of a Batman figure for SDCC (a variant --probably modern colored outfit) but Paul shot that down already. Same guy mentioned Clark Kent....cant see that one either.

Wont be a vehicle. Mattel mentioned on one of their online Q&A's that the only lines that will get vehicles for the forseeable future will be the tv/movie tie ins. Nothing for Infinite or Unlimited line ups, or Retro...all are considered "collectors" lines, and retailers are supposedly hesitant to carry higher priced items . Darn shame....The 3 3/4 figures would be a perfect line to sell playsets and vehicles for.

I wonder if the salespeople get confused between lines, or just make up
things that sound interesting, or are they told wrong information to
see where it shows up?

I may get told wrong information too - just to see if I talk to
anyone.

Since he's not in wave 2 or 3, I'm gonna make a guess and say the next Matty exclusive will be Robin. I'm most likely wrong, but that's my guess. Part of my guess is based on my own selfishness because I don't want to wait until after wave 3 to get Robin. I don't doubt that he'll eventually get made, I just don't want to wait.

I'll be stunned if a Neal Adams Batman or Robin is a Matty exclusive---both are proven sellers that should go to retail.

Some of the stuff that these guys leak is so out there...or SO WRONG, I have to think your spot on when you say the powers that be pass out false info, just to see where the leaks in the veil of secrecy are.

Sometimes the market conditions may foul up plans the sales guys set up too. I spoke to RP toys about the Trek movie line in Canada last year, and was told we were going to get exclusive bridge builder packs up here (which is the excuse as to why the figures in Canada didnt come with the extra bridge pieces) with an exclusive figure coming with each pack...never happened as the Trek line imploded too soon.
