How badly do you want a non RM Batman?

So if Mattel does produce a Batman with a non removable molded cowl, what lengths would you go to own one if it were an exclusive?

In the case of International collectors, what if it were only at a US-only outlet like Target or only available at US Toys R Us?

Would you be inclined to order it from Matty Collector if that was the only way of getting it? You'd need to be sitting at the computer at the moment they went on sale I'd imagine or lose out to the ebay dealers.

What if it were a convention-only exclusive? Or in the case of some San Diego exclusives, had some crucial accessory that is excluded from the online version?

If they make a molded cowl version of Batman (and I'm inclined to think they eventually will) I hope it would be a mass market item but if it were exclusive, I would attempt to get it but not pay premium for it.

I thought the first one with the molded cowl was a step down. I can't see getting a new one.

I would be willing to buy the exclusive as long as it had a descent molded head and they got the wedgie out of his shorts!

Batman is the best selling character - I doubt he would ever be a SDCC exclusive.

Well, since Mattel is too cheap to spring for a taller Blister...Batman would have to be a Matty exclusive, and come in a Mailer Box(no Card).

If it had a decent Head Sculpt...I would go out of my way to get it. Even if it meant paying a higher price.

I'm inclined to go with Doc's info here and there is more than one way to fit a Batman with long ears on a card other than a complete blister change.

There is really no Allure with a Removable Cowl for me.
I never had 1 when I was a Kid ...., only the Molded version.
I own 1 now ..., that display's very nicely ..., But I don't think it's the best thing in the world.... It could be the best thing in my Vintage Mego Collection though.

I grow tired of Mattel and Exclusives. ..., to the point that I am getting to not even trying to track these things down. It's Ridiculous to what Exclusives and Toy Collecting Have become, and the continue marketing with product behind ADULT Collectors. When I was a Kid ...., I could be driven to the local store, and all the figures I wanted from Joe, to Super Powers were hanging on the Shelf. Now with my Son ...., some are, if you can find them. You have to search your Arse off for hard to get figures, or pay $ on Ebay...., and then with Exclusives, They throw a Wrench in the average Kids Collection, if they have the Collect them all Mentality,... or Parents that try to make it So. Exclusives are Ruining the Meaning behind Toys ..., and the Idea of why they were created in the 1st Place. It's a Shame.

I don't see how descending his head cures a wedgie, since the pointy ears aren't long enough to...

Oh wait. I was thinking of something else entirely. Never Mind.

                        Jason,
I'd chalk this up to your geographic location. The TRU and Target at South Hill in Puyallup are notorious among local collectors for having inside people taking the rare or chase toys and working with scalpers or toy dealers. Also the TRU in Tacoma and South Center are the same way. Not sure if this has quelled in recent times due to the down turn of the local economy. Not sure if you frequent the Toy Shows at Kent Commons or Puyallup Fair Grounds but many of the dealers and scalpers work those places. Of course many end up on HellPay as well.

I'd rather see characters that mego DIDN'T already do. I already have a Batman, plus a new Mattel Batman. Don't need a third.

                            E- ,

I do realize some of this ..., I reconize certain faces, and have for the past 5 yrs or more. I guess I really didn't realize just the extent of How Severe the Issue may be . I do know that when I score something new, for myself or the boy ..., and see it, I have to buy it right then,... because 9times outta 10, when I go back, ... it's gone.

I would much rather have a non removable cowl Batman and if he gets made I will throw the one Mattel is offering us now in the garbage. Dr. Mego I love how you wrote Batman is the best seller...I have to wonder knowing this why didn't more attention and love get put into this figure in wave 2? I'm not blaming you,but someone somewhere screwed up and dropped the ball on him. When I saw him in person at comic con he had nice underpants that didn't look like a thong. What went wrong? How could this happen? Is it too late to fix this before the figure comes out? First Superman is given pink underwear and now Batman is wearing a thong. These are the big two. If you screw up the big 2 how is this going to look for the less popular characters? And I don't mean you personally. The prototypes looked the way they should have been released.
