Finally I can review the WGSH's

    Sorry, no pictures.
    My camera battery is dead...

    First a BIG SUPER thanks.
A super-cool Museum member just sent me a MOC Superman and Lex for free!!!

Not sure if he wants his SUPER generosity known, so i'll keep his name anonymous.

    Now the review ....
I'm sure i'm just repeating things other people have said, but this is my take.

Superman's head is not as bad in person as it looks on the net.
The chin and head-top is not bad at all.

The legs are loose, so he can't freeze in a can-can position.

I don't like the big jim style legs ... They're too bulgie looking.

The suit snaps are too fat ... You can see this big-time on Lex.
They look like minnie snuff boxes

    Lex's sculpt is nice.

    Uniforms look nice too.

    Cards are ok ...
I can live with the design but I was surprised how thin the cardboard backing is.

All in all I see some flaws, but I also see great potential.

I hope if some of these bugs gets ironed out the first series will be re-released with the improvements.

As it stands I give them a B+

    Thanks for reading

I'm sure we'll see improvements with each new wave being released

If I may chime in... Lex was the first one I got. I bought him with the rational that "well, Mego never made this one." Then I got to watching some on ebay and started seeing them cheap. BaBoom! picked up Green Lantern and Sinestro fo about $20 for the pair. Looking at the 3 out of five now in my collection I figured well... go a head and round it out. So I bought a Superman. I tried to get a Green Arrow from Maty but the site just wouldn't cooperate. In this down time I realized that something wasn't quite right. The Lex I had was loose. The other three were carded, so I got another Lex to keep on the card. And then just last week I worked out a trade with fossilfuse and now I have Green Arrow.

Bottom line? I'm hooked. I didn't want to be but I am. So as I wait for the next wave I will probably work on rounding out a set of loose one's to go along with the carded ones. So in the end be careful my fellow Mego heads... while there may be some bugs, once these new fellows make it into your collection they spread like wildfire.

These figures aren't perfect, but neither were Megos. I remember seeing popped knee and elbow pins on a lot of carded Hulks back in the 70s. I remember many of my figures with straddle legs, right off the card. Seams split easily, paper emblems would fall off, boots with seam splits and heels so thin you could see through them. The capes frayed easily, etc.
