I would be up for both. Especially if "Logan's Run" was based on the '76 movie instead of the series! Figures of Michael York, Jenny Agutter and Farah Fawcett would be great!
The problem with the Black Hole is it's no fun with out the robots. A line of just the human characters would be a tough sell.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...
Yeah I would like the movie version of Logans Run figures too.I also liked the show myself. As for the Black Hole, with a new movie being made, who knows.
I have to agree with everybody else when it comes to Black Hole figures. If I'm not mistaken, one of the problems with the original toys sales was an emphasis on the human characters. I think I read that here somewhere Anyhoo, the human cast was just not the selling point of that film and they seem, well, blandly interchangeable in some respects. I'm not putting it down necessarily, Logan's Run has its' share of flaws as well, but I don't see Black Hole figures as necessary. Especially with the fact that some did make it and they aren't that tough to get.
Logan's Run is another matter entirely. There is a real lack of merchandise, perhaps in part due to the fact that the original film was more adult oriented. Then of course there is the unproduced line that could have been. I think people would buy those toys, both Mego fans and Sci-Fi fans alike. You could do two series of four, one for the movie and one for the TV show. Or just one set. Make 'em 8 inch instead of ten 'cause, well, the ten scale is weird. If Emce isn't interested, I bet some enterprising up-and-coming businesses might could make it happen. The license can't be anymore expensive than, say, Buck Rogers
Ah........You got some good points there.I dig the 8 inch figures as well as the 3.75 scale.10 inch figures are odd.Well, time will tell if any company wants to make em.
Yes, a new Black Hole movie would be Disney. It's their property after all. Also, it may be a bit premature to say that a new Black Hole movie is being "made". More appropriate to say that a new movie is "in development". Yeah, it's semantics, but you know how things work in Hollywood. Plans can change, or completely fall apart, at any time.
Anyway, Disney announced their plans this past November, so there is much work to be done before the cameras can roll. The script is probably being worked on as we speak, so casting would still be a long way off. Joseph Kosinski, director of Disney's Tron: Legacy, is involved and could direct. Considering how great Tron: Legacy looks so far, I'd say this is very good news.
Assuming that everything moves smoothly, with relatively few hiccups, I would guess that we probably would not see it on screen until 2012 or 2013 at the earliest.
Oh, and by the way, Mego-style Black Hole figures could be cool!
You'd only get a few characters out of Logan's Run. The main character, his buddy who has to hunt him later, and the girl in the skimpy green outfit. Maybe the old guy who had all the cats and the weird robot? But that seems about it.
