Maybe there is a rabid Batboy following (ooh, poor choice of words...) that I don't know about... but my guess is this is more of a fun novelty figure.

For the right price, I might even buy one for the kitsch value. But at $25? Can't imagine there would be much of a market... but what do I know.

That project has gone back and forth over the past several months
