    Complete Retro-Action Lex Luthor Review

I've spent a long time going over this guy. I've ridiculed, criticized and complained about Mattel's work with the Retro-Action DC Heroes. Finally I have my review up of Lex Luthor. I did this review from a Mego collector standpoint. So if you're not even the slightest bit interested in Megos, knock off two full points from the final score. So how did he shake out? Check out the full review, which I believe is probably the most thorough review of this figure on the net today.

Entertaining review. I enjoyed it and agreed with many of your points, especially with regards to the pricing. I think if other stores like Walmart or Target pick these up, that would increase production volume and get that price down where we would all like to see it.

        Ummmm....couple errors in your review...

        1) Mego didn't come up with the term Superhero...both DC and Marvel used it prior. Mego DID come up with the World's Greatest Super-Heroes moniker and that was what was trademarked and then given jointly to DC and Marvel.

        2) The Mattel "Re-Megos" are NOT on a Kresge card..."Kresge" cards are the longer, more rectangular cards that K-Mart/Kresge used exclusively. What Mattel is using is similar to Mego's "2nd Issue" card.

        3)
I always liked my Luthor in a business suit, but this fits the Super Powers feel of this Luthor with the tight spandex green and purple
Uh, no...The purple/green jumpsuit is not what was used during the Super Powers era. That figure was in the purple/green armor.

Think OUTSIDE the Box! For the BEST in Repro & Custom Packaging!

That should say Super Friends, not Super Powers.

Good review. I agree with most points made.

I like my Lex. I found the whole set at Big B Comics in Hamilton. I already had Hal but not the rest. At $30 each, I could really only pick one this time around and it was Lex. I was leaning towards Sinestro at first because he's so cool but they all looked a little busted in the package. Lex was standing straight, looked clean and well, my Mego Superman needs a villain.

My girlfriend thought he looked pretty cool when I got him home. She's said she finally understood when I say that good villains always seem to wear Green and Purple. It got her approval

Hi Ray! Thanks for the info pal! That is why I insist that Mattel will re-issue Big Jim at some point. Don't you remember that Mattel was originally going to release the retro DC Superheroes under the name of World's Greatest Superheroes and then all of a sudden changed to RETRO ACTION? I'm sure Big Jim had something to do with this... Even the bodies developed for our DC Retro figures are screaming: BIG JIM!!!

Good Review. Now I will probably be proven wrong but, I think the Lex figure resembles the actor who played Lex on Smallville; Michael Rosenbaum? Just a thought.
