    Hey, I still want Wendy, Marvin, Wonderdog, Zan, Jayna and Gleek! Since I do want Wonder Woman, I guess I'd have to break down and buy Superman (and give him new shorts so he's not so "hippy" looking.) I have Batman, Robin and Aquaman already. (I'd only want the basics).

      Spamn....Re: Two Face etc -- I'm talking about why he probably wouldn't have worked in the Challenge of the Super Friends cartoon --- which had a certain tone it. Simlarly why TwoFace worked in the Dark Knight but not in the Joel Schumacher film.

        I would love to see a J'onn J'onzz figure. His accessory could be some Oreos and milk

        Actually, a cool accessory could be his detective coat and hat from his "human" alter ego.
        It's all good!

            Mattel and DC make the character choices - of course EMCE gives them our
            preferences but ultimately the decision is theirs.

              It would be interesting to find out why Two Face never showed up in cartoons until the 90s.
              As far as I can tell, Filmation never used him. I was hoping to show that some cartoon did as an illustrative example to prove he could be in a cartoon. So maybe you're right - it was felt that he was too 'scary' for children, or damaging to our fragile and impressionable little minds, like the Human Torch.

              And according to wikipedia, Challenge of the Superfriends couldn't use Joker in the Legion of Doom because Filmation had the rights to the character. Hanabarbera also had the Riddler and the Scarecrow, so the Riddler couldn't appear in the Filmation show.

                I think one of the reasons two Face wasn't in the Superfriends show or filmation stuff is it was probably figured that kids wouldn't like this weird looking guy in a suit. You know they would not of tried to make the scarred face scary so he would have just come of looking like a weird boring looking guy with a goofy face. My opinion

                  I'd get the Wonder Twins for sure. I don't know about some of the other ones.

                    Doc - thanks for the info on how the selection process works.

                    Good point about Two Face being a guy in a suit too. Lex Luthor as a toy works best when he's dressed up in his Super Friends outfit -- and how EMCEE has depicted them.

                    Having made the suit comment...I'd buy a Bruce Wayne or Clark Kent Figure.

                    I wonder if to kids if even if those characters are also just guys in a suit.

                    The Bond figures work even though Bond almost always wears a suit or tux or some grown up outfit...but those figures are aimed at adults I believe.

                      * Samurai

                      Legion of Doom

                      Thirteen villains comprised the Legion of Doom during the Challenge of the Super Friends season. They were:

                      * Lex Luthor
                      * Solomon Grundy
                      * Sinestro
                      * Black Manta
                      * Cheetah
                      * Giganta
                      * The Scarecrow
                      * Toyman
                      * The Riddler
                      * Bizarro
                      * Brainiac
                      * Captain Cold
                      * Gorilla Grodd

                      That's 26 characters...

                      If waves of 4 that's 6 more waves lined up.

                      But can Gorilla Grod - with his fur - really make a good action figure? I'm not sure. If they can pull it off, I'd love one. I guess if they can make Planet of the Apes they can make a Gorilla Grod.

                      Does Apache Chief work as a figure?

                      Guess it's more complicated when you look at it in black & white.
                      ACTUALLY 13+11=24 CHARACTERS!

                      Add to the roster The atom who made frequent guest spots. And didn't filmation cartoons actually HAVE riddler? or are ther two generations of the show, one which did not have riddler? Shazam had his live action and "Hero high" cartoons as well, so no superfriends for him. Grodd,Grundy and a few others could use a Hulk Style Body....

                        I hope this means I might still get my Spectre and the rest of the 1940s Justice Society. Then all I need is a round table.

                        Seriously, I think the Superfriends (which I grew up watching on Saturday mornings) are more marketable, more iconic and in line with the retro-mego and should come first. I hope to, at least, get Captain Marvel and Dr. Fate.

                          I am definitely of the old school. As a 70's kid, I grew up with the SuperFriends and along with the New Adventures of Batman by Filmation, which led me to watching the SuperFriends, I say that I am definitely in favor of getting Mego Retros of the characters from the SuperFriends.

                          In terms of Challenge of the SuperFriends, all I can say is so far so good.

                          MOST LIKELY HAS A 50/50 CHANCE OF GETTING MADE:

                          None of us can say for sure who has a good chance of getting made. But the ones I'm optimistic for are:

                          The Flash, Wonder Woman, Hawkman, Robin (hopefully)

                          Captain Cold, The Cheetah, Scarecrow, Riddler, Brainiac (hopefully) Bizarro

                          MOST UNLIKELY:

                          Hate to be a pessimist, but since DC and Mattel make the call who gets made, this is how I see the outcome:

                          Black Vulcan, Samaraui, Apache Chief, El Dorado,
                          (These guys are a maybe since Mattel added 3 of them to JLU)

                          Wonder Twins, Wendy, and Marvin:
                          I would buy them in a heartbeat so I could have the core group of the SuperFriends. But sadly, I don't think there's a snowball's chance in hell of them ever being made into Mego Retro figures. Especially after the fuss over the Wonder Twins as SDCC exclusives and the big fuss over Gleek.

                          Toyman ( why they won't make any kind of figure of him is beyond me)
                          Giganta ( I just doubt it)
                          Grodd and Solomon Grundy (Unless they use Hulk bodies).

                          In comparison, we'd have a better chance of seeing Firestorm, Cyborg, Darkseid, and the 4th world characters as Mego Retros over the SuperFriends characters.

                          I love the SuperFriends, but I fear I am either in a very small class or a class by myself. I still like to watch them from time to time, even though I now see the show for all its flaws. But sadly, the series has never had a successful toyline. DC Direct never continued it.

                          And off the record, Two Face never appeared in the old Batman TV show nor either of the two Filmation cartoons (I wish he had). His first media debut was in Batman: The Movie in 1989 when Harvey Dent was a normal man and in Batman: The Animated Series when he became Two Face.

                          Anyway, that's my two cents.

                          Cheers.

                              Two Face didn't show up in the cartoons of the 60s and 70s most likely because he wasn't used as a villain during most of the 1950s and 60s. Don't know if DC thought he was too grotesque looking when the Comics Code Authority came into power or what, but he had several appearances in the 1940s and then vanished for a long while.

                              O'Neil and Adams used him for the first time for a couple of decades in the early 1970s.

                                Filmmation Batman --- What was the controversy abut with the Wonder Twins? I saw those figures on the interweb and thought they looked great.

                                You're right about the Joker. But in my mind I conflate all those shows into one big tortilla of superhero goodness. The Batman/Superman Hour isn't really distinct in my memory from the Super Friends.
