    ^Excellent point about Joker.

I was really expecting to see Riddler or Scarecrow paired with Batman though, a la Challenge of the Superfriends.

Has Doc confirmed Challenge as a template?

Ij Japan, kenner makes (or at least made) cases availible by the CHARACTER! that way if the shelves are overstocked with say Darth Vader, then they can ship entire cases of the hot selling Han solo and Luke Skywalker, so there a variety of figures availible, and not entire pegs of Lobot..... Matell should do the same, being that there are (Alegedly) a cast reaching 30 deep! Then they can monitoor who to order and who to let warm the peg a bit.

According to a retailer who orders directly from Mattel -

Mattel was letting retailers and distributors order their assortment by
character, not only by case. I think most people just order equal
numbers by default - I know I did.

A hero is never a great hero with out a even better villain. so by that equation a worlds greatest super hero needs more than 1 villain!

That's interesting and I can see why, even with prior experience
with what people buy, there'd still be many whoi'd order equally.
Personally, I would've thought they'd sell about equally.

Heroes always outsell villains - and Batman outsells other heroes - at least
                    since the 80s.

I'm with the "prefer villains" camp.
As a kid I always liked the villains best, had more of them, thought they looked cooler, subjected my good guys to herculean bad guy team ups, etc.
Still true. GL is obligatory, but LOVE the Sinestro.
I'll get around to making a 7th voyage Kerwin Mathews head eventually (been pulling my ref art), but started with the skeleton army.
When I see fifteen variations of Batman in a wave with two villains it fosters profound disinterest on my part. I also like Two-Face better than the Joker, so this works out perfectly for me.

As a kid, I got an allowance of $3 a week for doing stuff around the house and the yard. That allowance usually sat on my dresser all week until I got a trip to Kresge's or Rink's dept stores. The first thing on my agenda was to see what Megos they had. Looking back, I don't remember seeing villains too often. It was always Batman, Robin, Spiderman, Hulk, and Superman. I only saw a Conan once at Woolworth's and my folks wouldn't let me buy him because he had long hair. My cousins lived in a bigger town and had Iron Man, Thor, and Captain America, as well as The Lizard, Green Goblin, and The Falcon but I don't think I ever saw one in a store.
I'm glad the new WGSH hero/villian ratio seems even and I love the villain choices so far. I cannot wait to get a hold of Black Manta and (hopefully!) Captain Cold. If they are going in a Legion Of Doom direction, Toyman,Grodd, Cheetah, Solomon Grundy, Scarecrow, Bizarro, and Brainiac would be awesome. A twelve inch Giganta, though unlikely, would be great.

Yes, from what I've heard forever they always have...but the point I was
specifically trying to make is that with this new line I was thinking they might
sell more equally due to a more specific set of new variables.

Mind you I wouldn't've put any money on that...I was just thinking.

That's something that bothered me since I was a kid; technically you need more bad guys than good, since the bad guys always get defeated. Never liked how the bad guys were usually outnumbered toy-wise. Made it hard to set up fights.

did any of you use your friends, siblings doubles as "doppleganger" villains? we had to. and the girls next door always had to be bad guys with their Wizard of Oz figs...I have to measure the validity of a line by one thing and one thong only, once you get a deep sea diving figure, the line is toast. *This is an exception to GI JOE, aquaman and Namor figures. But DEEP SEA SPIDEY? come on... Also I used to collect Batman figures until there was one villain, and deep sea batman,Laser armor Batman,Food stamp Batman,1940's shipping conglomorate Batman, Batman with removable left boot, etc.... Just keep the one damned Batman availible throughout the run, and add I don't know A FEW VILLAINS, and ALLIES?
