I'd like to know how to get that job with ABC ..., seems effortless.
I swear it doesn't even look like Her , Not sure how it was approved. Maybe it's the paint that really throw's it off ..., but I'm not feeling something. All the other sculpts are pretty right on imo, I like sculpted hair, personally.

Which ain't bad. Throw in Jacob and the Man and Black, and that gives you a couple of Aliens.

But I do expect Kirk/Jack in the next wave for sure. After that I think the Star Trek comparison runs out of steam because it's such a strong ensemble show and to call Sayid, Sun, Jin, Desmond, Sawyer et al comparable to Chekov or Sulu seems a great disservice to their roles on the show.

Hi everyone! Thanks for your comments about Kate and the discussion about how we come up with character decisions. I've got (some) answers for you.

We initially revealed our Lost action figure line last summer in the 7-inch format with Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Juliet. Those sculpts were not approved and pre-sales were very soft. So we decided to go back to the drawing board, switch gears, make the partnership with EMCE, and worked hard to come up with a fresh product mix for the 8-inch line. Bif Bang Pow! makes character suggestions, but in the end it is ABC that ultimately decides both the character mix, and if/when a character's sculpt is approved. Kate is a great example. We absolutely designed a version with rooted hair - in keeping with the Mego style - but the sculpted version was preferred by the studio (which includes the producers, talent, etc.).

As planned since our announcement with EMCE Toys at Toy Fair, we intend to reveal six more Lost characters this year. If the prototype and approval process all goes well, you should see these revealed at SDCC 2010. I'm sure you can guess which six characters these are, but until we are officially allowed to announce them, we'll let the debate continue.

    Thanks again for your support!

I would agree the "Kate" figure isn't spot on, but how dopey does that "Ben" figure look? And honestly, isn't Ben an odd character to come out with in the first wave?
He's a great character on the show, but he's hardly the most recognizable. Yeah, Ben has spent a good portion of his time on the show being beat up, but do you really want the red marks on his face?

    I don't know?

I would have like to have seen a 4-figure first wave of Jack, Kate, Sawyer and Locke.

Of course, they might have been holding characters back for future waves, but to me it's like starting a Star Trek line with Bones and Uhuru

Good eye, does indeed look a lot more like Drusilla

the ben looks great but get rid of the hamburgler outfit, and the beat up look. Save that for an exclusive "Henry Gale" I am trying to convince others (PUN INTENDED) to buy and carry the line, but it's a hard sell when figs like Kate ( a notable figure of the show and A LAUNCH FIG at that) look suspect. I really think it was a poor choice for the launch characters too, It should have been Sawyer and Jack, or Locke and Jack, Maybe even Hurley, but now I am starting to lose faith in the line, and pray this does not flop.

Hmmm.... not seeing the resemblance either. But I can't say I see much with Ben either. I'm wanting to like these more than I do, but they don't seem quite there.

    Lost (hair)

I am totally put off by the plastic molded hair. I sincerely pray the DC RETRO ACTION figures use rooted hair.

i don't think they got too close to accurate on her look but it's still the only one of the line i'll buy. i'd rather it didn't have molded hair, but it looks like they're using BK's porno body and that 's a good thing! it will help for other customs.

I agree, BUT paint the hair red, you have one hell of a charlette head.
