I got plenty of Love for Doc Mego.
I got Plently of Love for Mattel, ... They get a Ton of my Money invested in DCU, JLU , B&B and MOTU every yr.
I even Buy Barbies 6to10 times a yr, for Birthday's and Xmas Presents.
Now Mattel Needs to Show it's customer's some Love, and Fix thier Retro-Hero Line .

I don't get why they did retro style stringing at all, do the rest of the body like the arms and all problems would be solved. I personally really like the design sense of the line real simple old school toys. I actually like the look better than Mego.

i am super stoked about this line and on board for as many as they make. my kids are digging them as well...sinestro got hitched to island princess barbie last night.
I bought these figures at the Toys R Us here last week and I am totally happy with my purchase. My hats off to everyone involved with making this new line a winner.
Also, congratulations to Sinestro and Barbie. Best of luck to you both.
I have been trying to Put the word out aboyt Getting a Lex and Supes for my birthday.
If it happens ?
Classic boots, Emce bodies with CAW swivel biceps and darker skin is what we want.
If I had kids or if I could afford these to play with kids at school I would be fine.
Im happy there new suits, Cast a Way if I want o upgrade and I see a threads for making the fiures Darker. I am still leaning towards gettinmg a vintage Superman head. Oh those 70s side burns!
I tend to keep Superheroes to the 9 inch range but Black manta looks good and I AM curious about A Superman suit.
Kudos to the Doctor! He is and will always be the guardian angel of us Mego Freeks. Think about it, if it weren't because of him would Mego collecting exist as we know it. Will it even exist? I mean he became a "Doctor" just to provide us with hand made/molded replacement parts and accessories as well as completer sets. Then he advanced another level and provided quality CHINA FACTORY top notch quality exact replicas of boots, gloves and accessories. In the case of bodies, he actually improved quality! So he pursued a dream from us and he most recently got all these stuff for us: EMCE Start Trek and POTA (hey doc, you still owe us Gen Urko/Ursus!), Mattel Retro Action DC Heroes and all other deals LOST, VENTURE BROS, etc. The Doctor is the best! Paul for President of the USA!
As for Mattel, that's another story. We are speaking about the #1 toy manufacturer in the USA (maybe even the world). All modern resources and technologies at their reach, and that was the best they could do? Why didn't they learn from the Doctor? Why couldn't they "blindly" listen to him? How can you explain a company this tall delivering Retro Action DC figures so lose that they can't stand a pose? Or that arrive with runs or pulls on their costumes? Or even with oily substances all around their blister sealed cards? And I don't want to hear: "Oh, but Mego also delivered flaws in their figures" because that were the 70's from the 20th Century... Right now we are almost over the first decade of the 21st Century. I expect not just more but much more!
Don't take me wrong, I am very grateful that all of this is out there for us right now. And even paying $22 for a Mattel Retro Action DC hero just to pop his head off as well as his costume (if it doesn't come with runs or pulls), boots and accessories is worth the investment... Yeah, visit any site out there and start adding to your cart and you will have $22 spent in a handful of items and then add the shipping charge killer at the check out! We have to value what we are receiving in this line, but we are all in our right of demanding more from the #1 Toy Manufacturer in the USA/World!
Mattel, if you are even listening to me, have the retro action body LEGS remade to look and attach (ball joint) like YOUR Big Jim figure. I think that the body torso, arms and legs are better than Megos but please come up with a means to re-string them tigther so that they won't stand looking at their toes. Then demand a little more from your Quality Assurance Department and ask them to better sort for damaged costumes, oily substances, etc during their inspections. If these corrections are made, the line could have the potential of 25 waves.
I personally would not like to see the return of the Big Jim body. The ball
joint at the pelvis is prone to snap right off - at least 30 years later!
As for QA at Mattel, the rule of thumb in China is "when in doubt, ship it out."
They would rather send out damaged, stained product and get scolded for
it later, than have to make a replacement.
If Mattel can't get the strung together figure right, they really should go back to the drawing board and get rid of the elastic controlled joints. Just make it a glued together body.

I just read my own previous post - there is QA at the factory, but not every
figure can be checked over before being shipped.
My brother worked for an electronics company that had circuit boards made
in China. He found that even with their own people in the factory doing
random QA checks, there were still bad boards shipping out.
Even though Mattel does all they can to make quality products - the workers
on the floor know how to stack the deck so only the best work shows.
Doc should be proud. It's great to see him getting his due, both in the Industry, and also as supplier for Robot Chicken.
I personally congratulated him recently, when I Inquired about replica "Teen Titans" bodies (Yeah, Doc, that was me!), but I feel it bears repeating.
you're not just an asset to Mego collectors/nostalgists, you're an asset to the industry as a whole.
it's people like you who influence the hobbies we love. I wish you all the best, and many future accolades, as well as many future financial rewards for your hard work!
but then, when you love what you do, and it's a hobby and a passion, can it really be called 'work'? (And I'm not readily known as a kiss ***, so when I share my opinion, you can bet your *** that I mean it).
Looking for Green Arrow accessories, Doctor Who Sonic Screwdriver, and Japanese Popy Megos (Battle Cossack and France, Battle of the Planets, Kamen Rider, Ultraman) and World Heroes figures
