What about Smallville?

I guess if they are adding new lines based on new licneses than this seems a no brainer. I didn't dig the show but over the last few seasons with the addition of Green Arrow and Aquaman, Brain iac and so many others I'm digging it a bit more Plus the woman playing Lois is worthy of locking oneself in the bathroom for five minutes after the show's completion....

I mean come on the Wonder Twins? I love seeing Fate and Hawkman in actual hero attire.

I think this line will have to catch fire with 70s character designs before they release modern designs on mego-style figures. A good number of people on here seem to have no interest in seeing modern versions of characters done in retro-style figures, so I think unless the target market grows, they'd actually sell poorer.

Of course, the flipside is - if kids jump all over these figures, they'd be happy with more recent designs of characters that match the cartoons they watch/watched.

I do recall that the announcement at SDCC promised TWO Green Lanterns. I wonder if that's still true, and if John Stewart will look more like the JLU version or the 70s version when we get him (because I really doubt they'd do Guy or Kyle before another GL that's been in a cartoon).

I guess it depends on how well the two waves of DCD Smallville figures did. To me, Lana in cheerleader costume wasn't that exciting, but I did pick up Clark and Lex. I thought the "Justice" figures were great and would love to see Hawkman, Stargirl and Dr Fate made as per their Smallville appearances. Not really interested in "Matrix" Clark though, but I'm sure it would be a requirement for the other figures.

I guess it might actually be easier and more cost effective to go the Mego route with Smallville than another wave of sculpted figures. Probably a Daimand exclusive?

For John Stewart,I'd lean more towards the 70s version with Afro and mask. Besides,how hard would it be then for Mattel to just repaint his mask and call him Black Lightning? Kill two birds right there.

Waaaayyyyyy back when wave 1 was announced there was talk of 2 GL's: Hal Jordan and John Stewart. Eventually they dropped JS, but I'm sure he'll eventually make his comeback

I think a Smallville line would tank. My wife has gotten me hooked on the show and I do like it (once you accept the fact that this not Superman as we've known him) but the toys would be rather boring with not capes and all. For me Superman without his cape and Clark without his glasses is just a guy in red jacket. Not a lot of play value there. IMO
