To be honest, of everything coming out Brick Mantooth is probably my favorite character of all.

He is the epitome of Mego-Nouveau
Well said I know I would love to have a Brick figure it is a fantastic Idea.
The others I'm not a huge fan of however they do have rather large fan bases and I can understand the marketing value of the figures.
Also anything that puts out more custom fodder clothes, heads, bodies, accessories. the better.
I can't say I will buy any or not(so many heroes now ) but I know if I see one I like or could use I'll grab it in an instant. The more the merrier.

Right now, the only ones I plan on buying are Star Trek...and the Mattel Superheroes that have good Head Sculpts.

I don't watch Lost. I've seen Dexter once and didn't care for it. I LOVE Venture Bros. I don't know if I've ever seen Twilight Zone but I've heard of it.
I'm pretty much here for Star Trek, Superheroes, and Venture Bros.

I have never seen Dexter, Venture Bros. or Lost at any time.

Dexter, because it's on Showtime, which I don't have.

Venture Bros. because I don't watch Cartoon Network anymore, not since they stopped runningthe classic cartoons.

Lost, because I was (please excuse the pun, it is NOT intentional) completely, and totally lost as to the plotline.

I am a big fan of Twilight Zone, Star Trek, Superheroes, Star Wars, Flash Gordon, Tarzan, and all of that other wonderful geeky stuff.

I'd love to see a new Tarzan, other Trek characters, FG, BSG, SW.

As it is, I am going to be spending a whole lot of moolah in the coming months with the new ZICA line, Barnabas Collins in May, etc.

With the announce ment of the Mego Museum figures I cannot help but think that the new fad of 8" mego-esque retro figures is getting a bit out of hand. Sorry to those responsible but those two figures are hideous
            What?

Come on is that you Megosaurus?

                Hmmmm....

I think the diversity is great, since it generates a larger potential audience. The advantage Mego had with the format was the limited amount of retooling needed for new figures; something the new companies can capitalize on a few lines in. And I don't think it's a good idea thinking of them as strictly a retro thing; the format is STILL as viable as it was when it first came out. There's no need to think of it as an artifact of the past. (Wheels are pretty old too, but nobody thinks of their car as running with a "retro propulsion system.")

I'm grateful for all this choice.
Yeah, I know, it's hard to choose, and maybe not get certain figures you'd like as soon as they hit the shelves, but in the old days I couldn't get them all either.

I'll just try to get a few during the first run, and hun down some others along the way.
I'll never be able to afford all of them, and I guess just the way it goes.

Too much? Variety is good, we can supprt lines as we wish & send marketing signals...

I'm not into Lost, Dexter, etc. But look at the plethora of 6" figs, good & bad. We "Mego" enthusiasts deserve the same.

Mego--It's the perfect action figure: the poseability/costuming comparable to 1/6-scale, easier to accessorize, at a more affordable price point...
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Sorry to those responsible but those two figures are hideous, IMO of course. The production of these figures in and of themselves isn't a big deal but it adds to the feeling I got after reading the toyfair news regarding all the newly announced 8" lines coming out in the months to come.
Really? I thought Super Collector/Brick Mantooth looked fabulous....I'm actually more excited about these than what I saw from Mattel's Retro-Action prototypes or BBP's Lost prototypes (even though I know I'll probably be buying some stuff from both of those lines as well).

I think Super Collector and Brick are genius! A fantastic wink and a nod to everything we liked about the 70's. I'm not into Lost, Dexter, etc because I do not have cable. However, I think any line that can come out in the clothed 8" style (like others have said) only help bring that figure-type back into the mainstream. My son had never seen Green Arrow before the Mattel figure came out, but he is the one he goes to first because his hat really goes on and off and he can hold the bow in his hand. That is what it is all about. I can only imagine Batman's cowl getting worn out by him putting it on and off when that gets released.

edited: I just realized that Lost is not on cable - I just guess I've never have been interested then.

Just think of this as an asset bubble. When it pops, we can all ask for gov't bailouts.
