One could say it is a narrow viewpoint to say 'You should see things the way I see them' or 'you gotta think big picture here' i.e. think like me and you will be happy.
Focus does not necessarily equate narrowmindedness. This is a chatboard dedicated to MEGO toys. There are discussions of other toys, vintage and modern, but the central focus is items made by the MEGO company which made an enormous amount of product in its lifespan including some 30 odd superheroes.
I'm not saying I am on either side of the fence on this and I am not trying to get any hackles up. But I do think that bashing on the bashers is counterproductive to enjoyment of the toys. Plenty of room around here for everyone's opinion and vision of the toys that inhabit their lives.Leave a comment:

What he said.Ok let's say this is so . . . . isn't that a very narrow viewpoint? (i.e. they didn't make these the way I wanted them to be) you gotta think big picture here . . . . would we all prefer the older style boots?, I think so, but Mattel is doing what they think is best based on what they know and what Paul has given them. Again all I'm saying is take some time to enjoy them and a little less time being a NY Times Toy Critic (not you specifically) I think I speak for many here when I say I can't wait to walk into a ToysRus and see these guys hanging on a peg! what a day that will be! . . . for now I just can't wait until AmokTime ships mine!
I'm a member of the He-man forums too, and they are really bad over there about "voicing their opinions". My god, every time a new figure is shown, there's somebody demanding a boycott of Mattel over something like "They flocked Moss Man's ears!" (No, I'm not kidding.)
Problem with the internet is people put too much importance on their own input. Not every figure is going to be the way you like it, so just like it for what it is.
People who look for something wrong with everything always find it. FACTLeave a comment:

Or even what they envision as Mego-like. These folks have just as much of a right to state their dissatisfaction as you do to state your elation. Not everyone on these boards agrees with each other on every single point. It is good that way, it makes it much more interesting and easier to hold a conversation.Leave a comment:

That is sooooo true.
I look at stuff like Haiti, and I think, if the biggest problem you have in life is Superman's boots, you don't have any problems.
Enjoy life's little pleasures people...Leave a comment:
