All right, maybe I overlooked these threads or they're not in the EMCE banner/headline. For what it's worth, I was only trying to get the word out because, although I visit this board DAILY, I never saw the images here. Mind you, I'm not trying to clog up the board with redundant info, just stating that if someone like myself who is here everyday missed the memo then maybe plenty of others are too. In fact, I was at jinxworld.com message board first where someone posted the megomuseum announcement link about the new brands coming out in conjunction with BBP. Then I was at figures.com where I first saw the Lost images.

No problem man. I'm with you. SOme people can be consitantlly anal on here. First few times I let it go but . . . I does get to me. So I have to be the one to rethink and keep my mouth shut and just try to overlook it.

Not quite sure what "play value" has to do with LOST figures. I don't know any 7 year-olds that watch the show anyway. The fans of the show and MEGO-style collectors will be the ones enjoying these figures. The same goes for Twilight Zone figures...most kids probably don't even know what that is.

There is no play value for the younger gen. These figs appear to be geared more toward the fan and collector base, which is very huge. Don't underestimate yourself on how many people will buy these dolls. Once they hit shelves around the country and world, they will be snatched up. Don't focus locally, think globally.
Not to mention hitting the collectors that are the 40's age range who recall playing with Mego dolls.
                It will do well.

I think if they get 'em out within a year or so they'll do AMAZING! After that, the warm fuzzies for the show'll probably die off. (Sooner, if people think the ending sucks.)

like these are going to be marketed to you nephews. I doubt they will be on the shelves next to Batman at your local KMart.

Yeah but . I mean theyre toys. You've seen Toy Story 2.

You dont want your action figures going insane like the prospector ?

A toy that was never meant to be played with is like an oatmeal cookie that was never made to be eaten. Where does it end?

I dont know between me and my collecting buddies whats suppossed to be stranger? A grown man who spends lots of money on an action figure and never opens it , or a grown man who spends a bunch of money on an action figure and plays with it?

And yes . . by making them a collectibel only a person does teh unthinkable . . the action ceases and they become A DOLLIE to sit on your shelf.

Me I prefer the tea party time !!!! LOL!

                        To each his own!
Every year, the Franklin Mint makes thousands of plates that nobody ever eats off of!
I prefer to keep almost all of my stuff MOC/MIP but every so often I get the urge to open something and see what it is like out of the package. I've opened the occasional Star Wars figure and thought "damn, if I were a kid, I would be disappointed!" Other times, you don't want to put the item down.
Don't worry, TrueDave, it's still a Dollie when you invite it to your tea party!
However you like to enjoy your figures...that's the way you should enjoy them.

But it can work both ways. When I was a kid I'd amass ANYTHING in scale, 'cos each figure would become my own character. I don't like Lost, but I'd be tempted to get a creepy bald guy for use as a villain.
