As long as everyone gets a fair shot at exclusives I have no problem with them: like selling them on Mattycollector.com and the SDCC. Sure the price will be a little bit higher, but isn't that the name of the game in collecting. If every figure had the same availability then there value would never be any greater than (insert any comic book produced in the 90's here).

I hope Wonder Woman is the first female and she has no skinned outfit on. I'm happy Shazam may come I hated the Mego one. Hopefully Mattel will get him right. I wouldn't mind paying for an exclusive if it was a character I really wanted, hopefully it's a minor hero I could do without.Comment

*Basically not ALL exclusives are made available.. or, they alter the item a bit from the exclusive offering. Mattel is infamous for doing this.Last edited by geoffdude; Jan 30, '10, 12:57 PM.Comment

I have yet to really pay High Dollar for a SDCC Exclusive figure from Mattel ... They Do offer them on their site the next week, after the Con ... I think I have them all, or Most ... So I Believe I would be able to get it or them, with little or no Problem ...
Gleek was Lame ..., but everything else, at the Con,.. was on Matty,.. and for the most part, pretty easy to get.
If you Actually Attend the Con ..., You have a Better shot getting the Exclusives on Matty , than you do the Con ..., It's all in Who you Know, Who you Blow,.. and the Luck of a few. It's funny how this guy over here,.. can't get 1 Damn figure,.. but yet this seller on Ebay has 15 of them.
Now Try getting them DC Direct Rainbow Colored Jordans..., you wanna talk about Brutal.Last edited by BlackKnight; Jan 30, '10, 1:02 PM.... The Original Knight ..., Often Imitated, However Never Duplicated. The 1st Knight in Customs.

Well, mattycollector.com has only been around for two cons I believe. Most of their con offerings were available online (Gleek aside), but in low quantities. All sold out fairly quickly, with Giganta probably being the slowest mover.
Cars, He-Man and a few DC items blew out within days.
Mattycollector.com is a great way to get the con items for sure.. but there is no set pattern, or dependable one either, that Mattel follows towards placing items up or what quantities are available. Plus, they really have a quirky perspective towards exclusives and the con to boot. Can't wait to see what they have planned this year, both in items and how they'll pi$$ everyone off.Last edited by geoffdude; Jan 30, '10, 1:17 PM.Comment

They made points with me by being able to purchase the GA so easily on their site and now they turn around and lose double points by having a SDCC exclusive. It just ruins a good line and sours collectors.Comment

I don't know, everyone was predicting doom and gloom for ordering Green Arrow, yet no one had a problem and they didn't sell out in an hour.
Perhaps the same will happen with the con exclusive. We're also assuming it will be a superhero and it could be totally something else that not everyone will be interested in.Expectation is the death of discovery.Comment

Having attended SDCC this year, I walked away with no exclusive toys because I felt that my time was better spent doing other things than waiting in multiple line-ups.
I hate standing in line and the one to get in was excruciating enough. If there is something I REALLY want, I feel it's worth paying extra money on ebay NOT to have to line-up. Even better if I can get it on MattyCollector with a click of a few buttons.Comment

Exclusive
As long as I can buy it I will be happy. I am a little suprised they would do an exclusive for a comic convention. I am wondering if it will be a slight variant of a released figure or a complete new design. It seems like it is a lot of hard work to design and produce these figures and putting out limited exclusives do not seem like a good way to recover costs.Comment
