Character Style Choices SUPERFRIENDS vs. BRONZE AGE COMICS or...

Well, it now has come to me creating a thread over this
thing that I have pondered for a LONG time...even way
before MATTEL became a part of the equation, back when
I first started commissioning customs almost a decade ago.

I saw someone mention that the HANNA BARBERA style
was perfect for a MATTEL SCARECROW figure...and I have to disagree.

To me, if the style isn't inspired from a BRONZE AGE comic book,
    then it's a misstep.

I don't mind the CHALLENGE style...heck...I was bred on it...
and it's a big reason why I love most of these DCU characters...

still...the comicbook style is more reasonable to me....
unless it's clearly marketed as a "SUPERFRIENDS LINE"
or a figure is marked as "SUPERFRIENDS STYLE" which
thus far it has not been.

I'd love for Mattel to start a seperate Superfriends line of retro-action figures.

Don't really care what the Scarecrow looks like, I'm of the opinion that the Mattel line will sort of follow the Challenge lineup.

I'd prefer that one too. (And props to samurai for posting that pic!)

Granted "SUPERFRIENDS" SCARECROW is a great way to go, but I think it
makes the whole project of making this line too messy.

If they WERE to use the HB SF SCARECROW as a model for the figure,
I'd hope they'd at least have the decency to label it that way, so at least
there was HOPE for a Bronze Age Comicbook version.

Pretty sure we won't get two versions of Scarecrow.

Please God...no Superfriends! Mattel should follow the Comic Books, not Cartoons. So let's stick with 70's Artists like Neil Adams & Garcia Lopez.

I just think he meant the decision on what characters to release first...
not the actual "model" of the character.

Altho' T-bolt, correct me if I'm wrong

THAT riffster is the comic I asked Ed to base my custom SCARECROW on.
I sure hope the MATTEL version resembles that.
Granted the SF version isn't as different as, say, the SF Capt. Cold
or the SF Brainiac is from the comics...so a bit of a "mixture" with the
                              Scarecrow wouldn't totally rattle me.
