One thing I hope that they address is the arms. The originals had little bitty twigs for arms, and were NOT believable.

I'm not saying that they have to look like a female body builder; I just want more definition in the upper arm area.

Superheroines are supposed to be highly athletic and flexible.

The new female figures should reflect that.

Hey Doc! Are you reading all these?

Make sure the people in China get the 411 on what we want!!!
I'm with you on this. I guess that's what the main issue was for me. The flesh suits were too bulky, the arms too skinny, and the hands too small on the females (did I mention the cartoon faces already?).

I know that there's a fine line between keeping some of the old vintage looks and updating the figures. For me, even as a youngster, I thought the females left a little bit to be desired. We had nothing else to judge them by though at the time. They were all we had and I was excited to be able to get just one of them.

My dream for what Megos could have been wasn't realized until decade or so later when Charlee Flatt and other customizers started making their own. Granted, I know for some of you that would probably too high end looking and loses what you may call the Mego charm but for me I always wanted more realistic looking figures. This thinking went beyond figures into cartoons (Superfriends 1st season with Wendy and Marvin is a good example of this - too cartoonish. The artists at Filmation did a much better job IMO but I digress).

In any case, I do feel Green Arrow has just the right balance for this line. I'm hoping the same will be said for the females. Bring em' on!!!

Kinda wish the EMCE Gorn had done this for that reason and to hide the joints. I also wish there was a new hand sculpt.

As much as I want a new Mego scale Wonder Woman... my 4 year old daughter wants one even more. So here's hoping some girls get made...

I'd love to see women in the line but I hate the thought of a Wonder Woman wearing skinned underoos. There has to be a better way to make a Wonder Woman in 2010 compared to 1976. I mean Mattel probably wouldn't even approve a skinned outfit Wonder Woman. It just looks bad. Even as a little kid I thought she looked dreadful. Why can't they just make it a one piece looking bathing suit and maybe keep the skinned legs but please no skinned arms, upper shoulders. As for Catwoman...the iconic purple dress and green cape I wanted as a kid would be so much nicer then that pirate thing Mego did. I think Mattel would do better with rooted hair too.

Well we know Mattel will definitely get the rooted hair right. The body and the treatment of the exposed skin is my main concern. I think the only one that they will run into problems will be Wonder Woman. You can cover up Black Canary's with the fishnets as well as Zatanna.

The female flesh body suites never bothered me either...I don't have a problem either way, but if these are going to be "retro" figures frankly I'd like to see them keep them as close to the original as possible. They should be able to use a tighter flesh material something like the leggings on the WW Barbie would work well. I'd prefer that over seeing the joints and it would be closer to the originals.

Of course I'd prefer they did a different version of Catwoman maybe the purple and green outfit vs the pirate costume.

                      There's my 2 cents!

I don't mind the legs getting it but the whole uniform? I'm looking at mine right now and it just looks bad. The flesh tone suit with costume silkscreen look just doesn't work well. The bustier is too high on the chest and the stitching doesn't match up on the outfit from front to back. A lot them look like this.

If they must, I hope they will at least make the costume separate from the flesh tone suit. Give her removeable bracelets and tiara. Part of this line, as I understand it, is to improve some things, to treat it as if Mego never left the toy business. Green Arrow for me looks modern enough but still keeping some of the classic Mego. I believe the females in this line would be greatly improved from what they were in the past (especially Wonder Woman) if Mego were still producing figures today.

Power Girl, Liberty Belle, Black Canary...let's definitely not limit the amount of female characters--in fact, I'd rather have more female action figures than Villains any day!

To each his own but I for one can't see how anyone would want skinned uniforms on the new Mattel figures. I mean it was o.k. for Green Arrow (though I would have prefered it without) but the skinned outfit Mego used for Wonder Woman was plain ugly. She looked like a girl in underoos. In 1976 that was all Mego could do I guess, but in 2010 Mattel and EMCE can do way better then that. Joints won't look that bad on an 8" figure, they are not that bad on the 6" figures...even DCD's 13" line. I'd rather see some joints then skinned outfits. They could still attach skinned leggins to the one piece body suit if they must, that would not be too bad.

That's what I'm sayin'! It was okay for Green Arrow because the gloves cover it for the most part. The males in most of these mego-type lines generally look better than the females.

I just want one line that will do the females some justice. DCD's 13" line of females could be better. There are some unnecessary cut joints that make it harder to hide (I don't understand the knees at all on them). They also chickened out on rooted hair (with the exception of the Batgirl variant). The famous covers variant knee joints on the females were good and hid them better than the first body but there were some hits and misses too (Scarlet Witch (plastic hair) and Pyslocke (fleshtone suit)). I just want one of these companies to get the females right. I believe Mattel can do it.

I don't see them getting to any females right away in the "experimental stages" but if everything goes good, then they probably will.

I would love a new Wonder Woman without the stupid Barbie suit and a nice looking Black Canary and Hawkgirl....
