GOOD NEWS REGARDING MATTEL WGSH WAVE 1 figures.

    Hi,
The new toys r' us exclusive wave 1 WGSH mattel figures are listed in the new Previews book which came out this week.
This means that local comic shops can order them.
It seems they are not such an exclusive to Toys r' us after all.
So, this means, we fans don't have to run around to different Toys r' us shops to put the set together.
What do you all think? are you all happy with this news? or do you feel a little disappointed that they are not such an exclusive?

Who gives a **** about exclusives? I hate exclusives. The more places you can get it, the better

I'd rather give my local comic shop guy my money than a corporate giant. Good new indeed. I'll have to stop by there tomorrow and let him know I want a set.

Having it available at a Comic Shop means I'll be more likely to get it. I just can't count on theToys R Us near my place to get anything good and Mattel already has crappy distribution in Canada.
All I gotta do is go down and ask my comic guy to order them for me and he will.

Hate to be the naysayer... but consider this:

TRU will get a better deal from Mattel. They will get them first, and they will sell them cheaper, since Diamond isn't around to act as a middle man.

I know local comic stores that refuse to stock merch that places like TRU or Walmart get because

                      A) They get them first and in this hobby there is generally no loyalty. He who gets it first gets the sale.

                      B) They can sell them cheaper. People may be willing to pay $15 to $20 ... but not $30-$40.

That being said, it's great for people who don't have a TRU nearby, but do have a LCS that can order it for them. Just remember, it's a scalper deal.

I just think Diamond is going to somehow mess with LCS's by shipping really late, missing shipments altogether, short boxing them and charging close to retail for them to carry it.

(Ask LCS about Hasbro's Star Wars deals)

Usually LCS end up getting the figures by making backroom deals with stockers at TRU to get the shortpacked, hard to find figures instead of going through Diamond, anyway. So chances are they would be carrying them anyway... at scalper prices.

Which incidentally won't be cheaper than the prices that Diamond will require them to charge for the previledge of ordering through Previews.

So Previews listing them, good or bad? I guess it depends on your POV.

I think I'll get mine at Toys 'R' Us too...that's going to be half the fun! Actually seeing them hanging on the pegs and buying them that way!

Don't expect to walk into your LCS and see them for $19.99 as diamonds wholesale price on Mattel products is usually right around the mass market retail price.

Here's what I'm paying, no tax, and included w/my monthy comics order ($5.99 flat rate monthly shipping).

JAN101452-WORLDS GREATEST DC HEROES HAL JORDAN RETRO AF - $20.79

                            That's $20.79 each.

*I've gotten almost everything (99% of the time) I've ordered through my comic store via Diamond (sometimes things just get cancelled, and that be that).

geoffdude, I'm not completely sure by your post, are you happy with the 20.79 price as a dealer? I may be talking about something I know little about (not being a dealer myself) but if you click the amazon link at the top of the of the museum, they are offering the first wave figures for $19.99 each and if you go over $25 you can get free shipping. 80 cents per figure may not be a big savings, but if you were getting 25 figures you would have saved nough to get #26 free. Plus things bought through the museum link somehow help the museum with a small kick back. I don't know how fast they would arrive or if you have to get your things from your supplier or any of that, just thought it might help out.
