Would EMCE consider re-doing the Musnters figures?

It seems like the only line that CTVT sold out of and the few I got fell apart in my hands. I would love to have a decent line of figures from the series. I also wouldn't mind seeing the Universal Monsters and the Addams Family.

I would doubt it. I'm sure the possible association link to CTVT alone would be a nightmare. Plus how many more Munsters fans can there possibly be? Why not grab docs bodies and swap out the parts. They'll all fit. I will admit they did a lot of things wrong but the Herman Grandpa and Eddie sculpts were pretty good. Married with Children Al sculpt was real good too. Addams family might be interesting but it's not like they have a huge following. Doc says they have a bunch of stuff in the works. Hopefully it will snowball into even more stuff.
It's not a doll it's an action figure.

I'd love some Universal Monsters, but I bet it'd be too expensive to get the license

I'd have said the same about Star Trek and Planet of the Apes a couple of years ago, but Doc and Marty got 'em. Wouldn't surprise me a bit if EMCE releases Universal versions of the monsters someday.

And since Freddy Kruger, Jason Vorhees, Leatherface, and Michael Myers are all getting reboots lately, EMCE could go after them as well.

No signed paper can hold the iron. It must come from men. The words of Ten Bears carries the same iron of life and death. It is good that warriors such as we meet in the struggle of life... or death. It shall be life."

It is. I contacted the Bela Lugosi estate and the Universal studios department for licensing for an artist friend of mine. He was going to do a series of art prints based on the old Universal monster characters. The Lugosi estate wanted $5000 and the Universal studio dept. wanted $10,000. Although Universals price included all their characters minus Lugosi. And this was just the initial fee. He would to have paid a percentage on every item sold also. Licensing is a big business.

I doubt we'd ever see the Universal Monsters, but I'd love to see Emce do good re-releases of the Mad Monsters and maybe a second wave: Sea Creature, Hunchback, Schizo Scientist, and Opera Ghost or Transparent Terrorist...

And I think the Addams Family is a terrific idea!!!
WANTED: Dick Grayson SI trousers; gray AJ Mustang horse; vintage RC Batman (Bruce Wayne) head; minty Wolfman tights; mint Black Knight sword; minty Launcelot boots; Lion Rock (pale) Dracula & Mummy heads; Lion Rock Franky squared boots; Wayne Foundation blue furniture; Flash Gordon/Ming (10") unbroken holsters; CHiPs gloved arms; POTA T2 tan body; CTVT/vintage Friar Tuck robes, BBP TZ Burgess Meredith glasses.

Trek's following outside the toy world is pretty big. They have Trek cons devoted to that one show which is quite an impressive feat to pull off. The Apes were probably only done to see if they could duplicate the initial success Trek had redoing a vintage line. Unfortunately it didn't. Not a big fan of Apes but I would have liked some new characters the way Trek did.

$10,000 seems to be the going price for a non-active property with multiple characters. It's like all the license owners have a meeting and say "OK we'll all charge this amount." That seems to be the answer anyone seeking a license comes back with.

If you want EMCE Munsters you should do what many have already done - buy the CVTV Munsters and swop out the CVTV bodies with EMCE bodies. That's probably as close as you're ever going to get to EMCE Munsters.

As for Universal Monsters, keep in mind that there are two levels of licensing. The first level is for just the monsters themselves. The second level is for the monsters with the actor's likenesses. The second level would me more preferable, but also more expensive. On the other hand, the first level might be closer to EMCE's grasp. It would mean that their monsters would have to follow Universal' style guide, resulting in a more generic look. However, by going with the more generic look, the figures would probably have more of that "Mego charm".

On a final note, a series of Universal Monsters figures could be done like Trek and Apes. Meaning that Diamond Select buys the license and contracts EMCE to make the figures. Diamond does have deeper pockets.

I just started getting back into megos/emce/replicas and have yet to do any body swapping. Will the Munsters hands fit on the Doc Mego bodies? Is it hard to change them. Thanks in advance for your help!

                      Welcome JFAWWE.
The CVTV bodies are smaller from what I've experienced. Best thing to do is boil the arms or wrist and when it's soft, just pop them out. But be careful not to tug to hard.

The worst thing about the Munsters line is that disgusting mint green
skin color that the licensor INSISTS anyone has to do the Munsters in.

Have a little more patience friends - all will be revealed in February.
