Not being able to change the heads seems like a major bummer. Isn't that like 1/2 the appeal of Megos?

Oh well. I'm in for a few but I must admit to being less than impressed with the final product. Which is weird since I was so excited prior.

I think the photographer placed it upside down in GA's hands. It seems logical to shoot an arrow upwards and not downwards

This body is different from vintage MEGO or my body (DM/EMCE) so they
are not completely interchangeable. You can switch out the arms and
legs for vintage or DM, but the head has a different neck plug.

Glad to hear Mattel is aware of Legs issues. But it's also nice to know, that if we're still not happy with them...we can swap them out for your Doc Mego Legs. Kind of a bummer about the Neckplug...but then again, I LOVE the new Torso & Arms, so just as long as we can switch the lower half...it's ALL GOOD!

Well done Paul...you really did!! You brought Mego BACK!!

this situation has been addressed multiple times in earlier threads; would not have passed safety regs if the bow did not have an obstructional implement that prevented it from becoming an "improvised stringed weapon". whatever our shared opinions on the reasoning behind it, it is what it is.

as for the placement of the arrow, i have yet to see if the glove can turn. it wasn't designed that way. if it doesn't turn, then all i can say is to compare it to the shots of the toy fair prototypes and draw your own conclusions.

When this figure was announced as the exclusive, I wasn't sure I was going to bother with him. Green Arrow is not a particular favorite of mine, and I figured it would be a big hassle trying to get him.

But now that I have seen him in all his glory...

                      I.
                      Must.
                      Have.
                      Him!!!!!

As for the nitpicks of others... it makes me think of all the other quirks, factory goofs, etc. that we accept with such nostalgia from our vintage Megos. Years from now, I bet collectors will pay extra to get a "Series 1 'Bow Legged' Green Arrow".

The figure and packaging looks fantastic. Congrats to all involved.

When you pay money for a product, you expect it to be worth said money.

When you go to McDonalds and buy a burger, do you NEVER complain? Have you NEVER returned something because there were problems with it? Have you never complained about a product or do you just accept it and say you won't "nitpick".

Is it nitpicking when you order a coffee and it's cold so you ask for a new one? It's STILL coffee. Do you not have EVERY right to send it back?

I'm sorry but noticing and pointing out bad design, poor execution or flaws is NOT in ANY way "nitpicking". If you are NOT happy with a product, you have some options: Accept it, complain and hope it is addressed or not spend your hard earned cash on it at all.

What you call "nit picking" are all legimate complaints. I'm sorry but GA's bow is lame. The placement of the arrow is all wrong, even if it were right side up, it's in the wrong area. I used to do archery. I have a bow and they do NOT work that way. A little attention to detail goes a long way. A little online research would have made this right. The card sucks and IMO, those gaunlets look every bit as rediculous as Batman's oven mitts. There are other options available as far as material goes that would've look much better. The legs are bowed at the knee, NOT the thigh. The thigh has no bearing on the bowed legs. The knee joint is misplaced. Slimming down the thigh will NOT straighten the bowed legs.

I LOVE that we are getting new WGSH. I am as excited as anyone but seeing the final product, I'm disappointed. It COULD have been better and STILL been in the spirit of MEGO. The head is great, upper body is great, suit, boots, quiver, hat... but could have been better with a few tweaks.

It is definitely in the spirit of Mego though with all its quirks. just could have been a bit better. I bet if the MM were consulted, they would've been more to everyone's liking and been a superior prooduct.

I agree...the package looks better now that we see the figure on it. It does look like something that would have been available when I was a child. I LOVE IT! I would hope they would put a clear spacer between the legs like the later Star Trek EMCE figures.

Does anyone know if it is set up at Mattel so that we can place our order at the stroke of midnight on the 15th? Has anyone ordered from Mattel before when they have had similar promotions?

is the green arrow exclusive going to be limited to a certain number ?

can anyone tell me the dimensions of the card, is it the same as trek ? same as pota ? as i want to see if i have a protective case for it

                              cheers

Yes, but the way they have it, if you simply turn the bow right side up, the boxing glove would be upside down. But as I mentioned in my following post, in a couple of the other shots it looks like the glove is turned horizontal, so now I am thinking the glove turns on the arrow, and the photographer just messed up.
