I bought the line of EMCE Star Trek figures that came out way back when and over time the elastic bands holding them together have slowly started to deteriorate. My Chekov fell apart but I found a tutorial on how to repair him that worked out great. Recently, my Lt. Uhura figure's head fell off and this looks like a trickier fix. Does anyone know a repair procedure for a female EMCE figure? And is it the same as an original MEGO female figure?

I'm pretty sure that Dr. Mego sells Brown (AA) female bodies, so maybe you could just buy one of those replacement bodies for your Uhura?
Edited to add: I checked and Dr. Mego does indeed have repro Brown (AA) female bodies, $4.00/each. Can be seen here about half way down the page (Just has the listing, doesn't show the actual product): http://drmego.fatcow.com/store/page10.html
Also, CTVT has repro Brown (AA) bodies: https://www.classictvtoys.com/custom...alebodies.aspxLast edited by apes3978; Jun 9, '25, 4:37 AM.Comment

The head is still on the neck but the neck came out of the body. I managed to get out a small rectangular piece that was loose inside the body but I can't figure out how that could have possibly connected to the neck, which is just a tube with a hole on one end and no way an elastic band could attach to it.
I may have to buy a new body (thanks for the link) but I was hoping I could fix it. Is there a link anywhere to an internal view of how Megos are assembled?

I just looked through my copy of World's Greatest Toys by Holcomb and saw how the female Mego looked and the EMCE version is nothing like it. And I can't find any EMCE female figure repair info online, so either I glue the neck on, or buy a new repro body. I'm thinking the latter.Comment
