Would EMCE ever consider a Dick Tracy line?

I'm a huge Dick Tracy fan and was thinking would EMCE ever consider doing a line of figures. I'm not sure of the interest or the Licensing of the Character.....but I was thinking Tracy has such an amazing Rogues Gallery Of Villains that I personally think it would be awesome.

The Dick Tracy movie figures were horrible and even when they did a 12' Warren Beatty version I never liked it cause for me it wasn't Tracy

I was thinking more in line with this Statue by Electric Tiki that shows the rough tough persona that is more in line with the Comic Strip...... any thoughts?

I'd KILL for a Dick Tracy line with all those cool villains! And if not EMCE, maybe Castaway? It seems right up their alley....

That would be a really interesting line . . . great selection of fun villains as figures.

Dick Tracy is definitely a cool classic character but one that I don't think is recognizable enough anymore to the average child/parent/toy buyer to sell at mass market like the new WGSH are. Every kid and parent knows Superman and Lex Luthor. Dick Tracy and Flat Top, probably not.
You are a bold and courageous person, afraid of nothing. High on a hill top near your home, there stands a dilapidated old mansion. Some say the place is haunted, but you don't believe in such myths. One dark and stormy night, a light appears in the topmost window in the tower of the old house. You decide to investigate... and you never return...

We would sell tens of them and I doubt the license holders would do it
              for a low upfront.

Darn!! Shame, Tracy would be one hell of a toy line with the Villains, cars and play sets.

Show me the audience - where can I find the Dick Tracy fans?

I know where to find Trek fans, superhero fans, even Night
of the Living Dead fans - but the days of "build it and they will come"
                    are over.

If Electric Tiki's license covers 8 inch action figures, and they are
looking to explore making megos, then I would glad to talk to them
                    about it.

I would love Tracy figures, but you're probably right about the market.

Heck, we couldn't even get another wave of cool EMCE apes.

Trek begs expansion, esp. considering the cool Brady sculpts that remain.
But what else might sell well? Monsters?

                        Not just ANY monsters either!

We want the classic monsters that our parents grew up with!

Okay, before you all start bombarding me with tomatoes, let me explain.

I remember watching on Chiller Theatre all the really GREAT monster movies like Dracula, Frankenstein, the Wolfman, the Mummy. They were CLASSIC in a way that none of the movies made today can match.

Bela Lugosi; Lon Chaney Jr.; Boris Karloff; Oliver Reed; Christopher Lee; Peter Cushing; they were all giants in the field of horror.

How many of us watched the movie from behind the sofa when it was on? How many of us wished that we could BE one of them, if only to scare the poop out of the bullies at school.

I would love to see different versions of Drac, Wolfie, Mummy and Frankie done by EMCE or Castaway or even ZICA.

                        Let's hear it for MONSTERS!

I second this , as much as I love the Mego Mad Monsters I would certainly enjoy a 8" format that rivals the Remco Monsters line. At Least Monsters that look more closely to their well known and Iconic looks. Would Universal be willing to do these with a low up front ???
