    How About EMCE...

re-releasing the Kiss action figures? Maybe even give them better head sculpts this time etc. Kiss will license anything. Not sure about rights or exclusivity but this is a property ( I believe McFarlane was putting out Kiss action figures from time to time).

I am surprised I do not see Kiss being discussed as a repro line. With the upcoming media blitz for the new Kiss album I see it as a missed opportunity.

Probably won't happen but worth discussing I thought. Without question, Kiss was up there in popularity with POTA and Trek in the 70's. My mother refused to buy these for me back in the day and I can't afford vintage ones now. I am not a Kiss fanatic btw I just think it would be a real 70's nostalgia trip seeing these on the shelf again. The Kiss nuts (Kiss Army for those paying attention) would certainly buy these up in droves.

The only question I can think of aside from the McFarlane one would be if Kiss refused to have figures repoduced as they do seem to value the Kiss collector so maybe they would have to be new sculpts.

As an aside these guys have 4 Mr Potato Heads coming out with the various character faces.

    KISS

I have no idea if the licensing fees would be prohibitive or not, but you must remember, those Mego KISS figures were 12.5" , not 8", so a new body would be required by EMCE for straight reproductions. Of course, something in 8"-scale might be a possibility, but I don't see that as likely.
Medicom Toys (Japan) has a 12" line planned for later in the year; so far the Gene and Paul figures are the only ones shown and solicited, but I imagine Ace and Peter (and hopefully Eric and Vinnie!) won't be too far behind.

Believe me - I want to make KISS megos, but I have been told that
the upfront cost for the license is $100,000 because Gene Simmons
is fed up with bozos that make big promises but don't deliver.

I am glad to see the Medicom figures are using the Destroyer outfits.
Mego KISS were based on the Love Gun costumes.

Wow that is a lot of cash. It would be nice to one day have 8" MEGO style KISS figures.

            I second that.

I'm a big KISS fan for 35 years, I hope they'll make a new EMCE 8" KISS figures in the future.....

If they can do then I'll buy 8 set of 'em.

I can honestly say that if EMCE ever makes 8" KISS figures, I am so there. 2 complete sets, provided I can afford them. I have been envious of the awesome KISS customs I have seen here and would never kid myself into believing that I could make my own. But I know that if EMCE made them, they'd be quality, and I'd have to own them. I hope that one day this will happen.

$100k for the license?!?! Wow, there goes that idea, well, for now at least. It's really cool that you are interested though Doc. That means there is some hope...

The medicom figures look really cool, excellent actually, but for me to purchase those I would need all four members represented... and besides they aren't mego's ya know?

That being said what would be awesome, if the license weren't an isse, an Eric Carr mego, along with, as you pointed out Doc using the Destroyer era costumes for the original four figures ....all, of course, in an 8 inch format.

Those are bad ***! Maybe too much so to be mego's but nevertheless. I love the look of the sculpted hair. Whoever did these, real work of art.

I completely forgot these weren't 8 inch figures. As I said I never had them myself. Would definitely want classic 8 inch scale mego's... with an extra inch for platform shoes of course!

I agree, the Medicom figures look great! I pre-ordered Gene & Paul from BBTS, but may cancel if Ace and Peter aren't announced. Got to have at least the original 4 !
I'm glad they went with the Destroyer-era costumes (albeit modified, as Gene's costume has a covered midriff where the original was bare) ; since Mego did the Love Gun costumes, these will be a nice contrast.

The only Beatles I would make would be the later years when they
                            all had very distinct looks.

The mop tops uniform look makes it hard to tell them apart - except
                            for Ringo's nose!
