First off, thanx to all for your support over the years and for all the time you spent with us yesterday during what seems to be an unprecedented posting session here at the Museum. I appreciate the use of this form as a de facto online press conference podium.
Thought this would be a good time to introduce the parent company of EMCE Toys, so it can put some context to our endeavors.
Many of you know the EMCE project as a personal mission of Paul's, which it is, and I'm happy that we were able to make it happen. I've known Paul since high school and he has always dreamed of bringing MEGO back. Technically, it happened when we relaunched Star Trek, but there should be no doubt in anyone's mind that yesterday's relaunch of the World's Greatest Super Heroes is the return of MEGO.
So you understand how serious this business is to us, it can be revealed that it is a major initiative of the platform on which my company, SphereWerx,is built.
To coincide with yesterday's announcement, we relaunched the SphereWerx corporate site. I invite you all to visit so you can see what else we do.
The advantage to the MEGO fan is simple: this is not just an elaborate hobby for us. It's also not just making a quick buck off a trend. I have investors and partners who I have sold on the idea that what made MEGO strong in the beginning can do so again.
If we are correct, then you all benefit: it means MEGOs of all kinds of properties for years and years to come, in the words of our friends at Mattel, "as though the company never ended".
If we are wrong, then we stand to lose a lot more than just a side investment in one or two poorly chosen characters.
So, I hope you come to the site, browse around and get to know the people responsible for bringing MEGO back. We worked hard to get here and we've got a lot more work ahead.
Cheers!
