When you really think about the big picture, 20+ dollars apeices isn't really that bad.

Most of you should remember, 13-ish years ago, Playmates was getting an average of $20.00 for their nine inch Trek figures.

Of course today, those same figures are worth about 50 cents

I just scored an Andorian tonight at Saturday Matinee Movies for $7.44 + tax. I already have one, but now I can do a custom Thelin.

I still have a couple kirks from the first wave not sure if I'll be getting anymore of him.
...I think some of the price has more to do with the "Calgary = Boom town Gouge" factor than anything. This place is really getting expensive!

I speak to the owners of comic shops whenever I can, here in New York
City and Long Island. Many tell me that they sell out within the first
              week - especially lately.

I always tell them to contact their Diamond rep and request more.
I wonder who many sales are lost because the figures are not more
              readily available to consumers?

I keep hoping that someday (soon) I will see EMCE's gracing the pegs at places like Wal-mart, Target and etc. I am in Wally's just about on a daily basis searching for cool collectibles. I have all of the EMCE's to date so far. I think that I would be apt to buy even more of them if they were hanging directly in front of me on a store peg. Kind of a cross between impulse buy and fear of loss thing I suppose.

EMCE's have gone up slightly here in Saskatoon Canada. Most of the early releases like Spock, Andorian, etc were $18.00 CDN. They jumped to $19.00 for the next wave. Gorn, Sulu, Chekov, all the apes, etc are now selling for $21.00.

The early releases did sell out so this might explain the price hike. Many of the recent figs are still on the pegs. Mugato and Ahura were the first to not sell out and are not moving at the new higher price.

I've noticed where I am as well they are on the pegs and selling well.
But given the new price hike $22 the unpopular chars like Uhura, and Mugato are just shelf warmers.Figs like Sulu, chekov and gorn are gone fast even at $22.
I do not think that second runs of Kirk spock and McCoy would sell as well at $22 unless it is a variant like belly kirk or something like that.
But hey you never know they are the core figs and may still sell?
I just think that you can still find original kirks mint for that price.

I noticed the same thing at my local Newberry Comics. Sulu, Checkov, Gorn...go FAST! Uhura & Mugato have been on the Pegs since their release.

I just got kirk, kahn, sulu, and uhura at a hastings and my ony regret is I didn't have the money to get the others they had.
I made a trade with a friend to get gorn, magotu, chevov, cheron, and andoion. the price was 17.00 each.
                        I am hooked.

My local comic shop sells Scotty and the Keeper for $21.99 plus tax each. They sell Sulu, Chekhov and their respective alien counterparts for $24.99 plus tax each.
No exclusives and no chase figures, please - I'm Canadian!

One of my local FYEs (in Albany, NY) had a couple of the Keepers for $19.99. They went nowhere. A few weeks later, they added about two pairs of Sulu and the Gorn for the same price each. They were placed behind the Keepers on two adjoining pegs. I moved them to the front (Sulu and Gorn side by side). I don't think those ones are there anymore (although both the Keepers were still there). I'd like to think that, in a small way, I helped push EMCE a little.

Every bit helps. I am sure that Diamond, Doc and the store owner appreciates your help in giving those figures a little "push" in the right direction.
