    The Dreaded EMCE Collar Crumple!

The EMCE Checkov I opened has the dreaded Collar Crumple. But...I think I figured out a fix!! I pulled the Collar up tight around His Neck...and it looked GREAT! So...I think I just need to moved the Snaps up tighter, and He'll look just fine!

    I'm so happy!

I've been using a dab of fabric glue to hold the collar down, but your method sounds good too. I'll have to try it next time I encounter this issue.

I know its dangerous, but I wonder if a pass over with a hot iron would work without melting anything?

It not being Glued down isn't the problem on My Checkov & Scotty. It's that one side stands up high...while the other side is glued down low.

Most ALL of the other EMCE Figures are the same...up high around the Neck. But by pulling up the low side, and folding the Collar to where I'm going to relocate the Snap...it looks JUST RIGHT!

Interesting. I've bought tons of the EMCE figures and this is the first time I've seen a collar like that. Good to know a snap re-adjustment fixes it. I always thought the Mego and EMCE outfits would look better if they fit a bit tighter anyways.

Well...you got lucky! Almost every Scotty I've seen is like that!

....Not so lucky. I went through all the figures and double checked, and was doing fine until I opened up a box of em I had left sealed. Two Scotty's have that affliction. Worse, one of the two has two left arms and what appears to be two right thighs, although the lower legs are ok? Must have been a rough Monday morning on the assembly line that day!
At least you've provided a solution for the collars. I think the odd limbed Scott is going to get overhauled into an Arex though.

This is the first time I've ever seen Sulu pictured! Sculpt looks great, but I think a repaint would bring out more of the George Takei.

Great solution for the problem collar. Have never seen that before, either.

Yes...I definately didn't start this thread to upset Doc...but to let People know I figured out a way to "fix" the problem.

Yeah, I cringe every time I look at my Scotty. I should try to fix his collar as you’ve suggested.

                    Thanks,

                    Chris

I buy EMCE's by the Case...and I've had no Collar issues with: Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Sulu.......only Scotty & Checkov. In My Checkov Case...2 of the 4 were messed up. And ALL 4 of My Scotty's!

I thinking of not buying them by the Case anymore...that way I can go to different Stores...and pick out the BEST ones.
