While I have to admit the Art Asylum supplied Trek figures are looking better and better design wise, and I'm thrilled two more chair styles will soon be out (ditch the AA figures and stick Megos in them!) I'm somewhat dismayed no EMCE stuff is announced? Maybe a seperate announcement will be made?....Chapel, Romulan Commander, Pointy eared Kirk...EMCE could pull these off with their eyes closed!

Well, Diamond had some retro/EMCE Trek stuff there. Sulu, Gorn, and the new playset. Hopefully theres more to come?

Doc already made an annocuncment in the Mego Buzz section in the Marty Abrams thread that nothing will be announced until later spring. BUT BIG news is to come as far whats is coming from EMCE.

"Just to let you know:

EMCE Toys was the name coined because we couldn't call it MEGO.
Now that MEGO is back, we would love to use that name for all
8 inch action figures.

Regardless, I will do everything I can to promote all products like
Marty is involved with. I just showed the Pet Rocks to my six year
old daughter and she wants them all. If you know a child between
5-9, they will love these toys. Toys R Us will be carrying them.

We knew since last summer that Marty was working on getting the
MEGO name back. I don't say anything anymore until Joe Sena tells
me I can. Loose lips sink ships. Marty has been very helpful to us
already and I hope to see that relationship grow over time.

EMCE Toys is not announcing any new product now because of the
new regulations on toys just now being worked on and the state of
the economy. We have just rolled out a full year's worth of production
and will get to work on 2009 shortly, but since we are not a traditional
toy company, we don't have to show new product at Toy Fair - we can
start our year later - after the spring rush.

Big news is coming - sit tight and stay tuned."

EMCE DC heroes at Toy Fair ?

Wait till toy fair in a week or so....If anything is announced (at least in regards to Trek or Apes) I'm betting Diamond will do it then.

I got excited when I saw a bunch of new Star Trek figures standing in the EMCE bridge in a photo of NYCC09, only be disappointed that they were just customized figures brought for display purposes.

So, therefore, I am skeptical about the photos of Batman, Robin, Penguin, and Riddler showing up in the EMCE section of this Toy Fair 2009 gallery:

Nothing is at Toy Fair as I already said. those pics are from last weeks Comic Con as was mentioned above. It is wishful thinking though.

I am a bit possitive that there is good news for 09 though..

EMCE has done an extraordinary job reviving the Mego product, so I have no reason to expect anything less in 2009. With the economy struggling, companies may be more relaxed on the use of their license which could lead to a revival of certain Mego lines we may have never thought possible. That's certainly my hope.
