      hiya doc,

I know that you will lose some detail in a sculpt as it goes down the line into assembly. Differences in plastics, shrinkage, and -as you stated- detail in the original sculpt.

I am not saying it is bad, I like the new gorn. Merely a comparison comment.

There really is no comparison between a custom/handmade item and a factory produced one and I know that. As I said, these were just observations. My post was a look at an earlier take, and now the 'official' factory product. I really should have put Megos Gorn in there as well. I have quite a fondness for the cost saving construction that Mego did with their Gorn.

The only disappointment I had with the figure was with the construction flaws. I seem to be on a roll with that (I have had thee figures with problems). I hope it is not a trend from your manufacturer.

One big difference I noticed is in the EMCE Khan. In James original Cast...the face tecture is a little rough...but the EMCE Rotocast Khan, is PERFECTLY smooth & flawless...I LOVE it, it's a definate improvement!

Came home today to my Sulu/Gorn delivery from NewForce.. thanks, Rick!

Anyone seeing any thumb issues with their figs? Both my Sulu and Gorn have a couple bum thumbs.. like the plastic wasn't formed well, or took some dings in the bubble. It's hard to tell. My Sulu is also missing part of an eyebrow (you can see the black paint on the bubble from it), and his nose is a bit worse for wear too.

Ham, Nice crowd you got going on that starship Mr. Gorn looks like he means business.

Hard to tell in the photo, but is that a pink lip Scottie?
                It's all good!

Yes, he's a minty Type 1 that I transferred to a Type 2 body. He still has the foil on his badge!

Well, the original resin Khan was James first human face sculpt. He perfected his technique over the years and got much smoother and flawless over time, as shows in the EMCE Khan. THe EMCE Khan is also Brady's work, but it is a totally new sculpt and it really shows how far he's come.
