The seller of that Red Phantom, also had up for auction an Early Bird version with the olive outfit, which I put a bid in for, but missed out on. The auction finished at 3.00am GMT!
Was surprised at the final selling price of the Red Phantom, would have thought that it would have sold for a lot more. Congratulations GHVersion 12 on winning the auction, he looks great.
If any of you have a spare carded Olive Phantom please let me know, as I would be interestred.ThanksComment

What would be the current going rate for a "Dailies" version of the Phantom given that there were only 50 Dailies Phantoms produced?
Have never seen any for sale. The card on the packaging looks fantastic.Comment

When Lee Falk created the Phantom, he was originally going to name him the Grey Ghost, but decided the Phantom was a stronger name. His comic strip was originally printed in black and white. But during that time, Lee always described the Phantom as having grey and black tones. And when it was time to start printing in color, Falk had every intention of keeping his costume grey. However, the colorist decided the Phantom would look better in purple. So without Falk's permission, the comic was colored and printed as such. Talk about nerve! But Falk grew to like that color and so history was made thanks to someone's total indiscretion. But in many countries the Phantom is colored differently. In Brazil, Turkey, and Italy the Phantom wears a red costume; In Scandinavia he wears blue; In New Zealand it's brown; And at one point Australia colored him in lime green before reverting back to the purple. So it's very cool that Castaway recognized some of these differences and gave us some very cool variants. I hope if they revive the line, they continue to expand it. There's definitely a market for it.Comment
