Playtrekker Cast-a-way order problem?

I totally agree with you John but we can't tear apart new guys when they ask about their orders. Some of these guys are new to the hobby and don't understand that sometimes stuff happens. We both know that cast-a-way is doing their best but I think we need to use more tack with guys who are new to the hobby and the boards. I'm guilty of not doing that in the past so I want to make sure I don't do it any more.

I just gave a generalization of what the Term PRE-ORDER Meant for everyone who has seem to have been clueless these last few Months on the Subject. It just happened to be in this Thread where I posted the Information. I never Commented on a Name, person or Quoted anyone. I just offered some Helpfully Advise and Information of the Definition of the Term PRE-ORDER .

If Confirmation emails started getting sent from Castaway, then some sort of Professionalism might be expected. Mego Collectors regardless of the company they ordered from might start wondering about their missing orders after 6 months. Oh its a slippery slope from there on my friends...
It would turn into utter CHAOS I tell you...
Where would the sellers be who were USED to having at least a year to get out the Mego items ordered? How could they ever compete?

First off welcome aboard KURR63. If you spend some time here I think you will enjoy yourself. Its a real fun and informative place for Mego fans. Pretty much all the folks on the forums are cool, except that BK guy, he's such a D-Bag(Who loves ya best J-man) As pre-orders go, Even big companies have trouble meeting their intended ship date. I pre-ordered a figure from NECA. It was suppose to ship in Aug 2008. I still haven't received the figure, and when I email for an update I get a form letter thanking me for interest in the company.
So remember it's not just the little guys! As for Castaway toys? Nothing but good things to say. Whenever I place an order it comes quick, comes with extras, and Dave Lee always signs a personal thank you on the invoice.

I think its the last numbers of your order #. I know the last two orders I made had 914 at the end and the first pre order I made back in 08 was a lower number in the 600's.

The waiting is the hardest part but the rapture of getting the figure is exciting. Dave and Jason have been good to me. I am waiting on my club memebership coupon so I can place an order but other than that they're OK.

You can't fault folks for getting impatient. But like what was said above " once he gets the figure all will be forgotten".

By the way, Phantom is beautiful!

I am sorry too. I'm sorry that a possible new member gets slammed for simply asking where his order is that is now past the time he was told it would be shipped, and can't even get a simple reply as to an update.
Your reply BK was pretty harsh. I bet you won't see him back again, nice job. How sad.
I posted this here as it was posted on the playtrek list for anyone there to see. I hope Kurr didn't mind, as I was simply trying to help out a fellow collector
What I find really interesting is that there are many members on this forum who complain about other orders they have waited for beyond the date promised and yet in this case, since it was a "pre-order" irrigardless of the quoted shipping date, this poor guy gets attacked and insulted.

Remember you asked me to reserve you one (see the e-mail below). You did not complete the process Joe. So you will get a figure because I told you I'd hold it, but don't complain because you didn't order like everyone else...

Pre-order IS what is Said,.. YOU PRE-ORDER IT !

It could be a week,.. it could be a month, it could be a Flipp'in Year.

It IS A Pre-Order .

They are designed to Insure you (the buyer) that YOU will be able to most definately recieve one. You don't have to worry about the product being sold out,.. Hunting down the Product, or paying some rediculous amount for the Product on Ebay .

I Pre-Order lots of stuff for these reasons .

If you don't have patience,.. I recommend, you don't pre-Order. It will save everyone alot of Time and Effort involved in NonSense.

Just my 2 cents and opinions .

What I find funny is that an insult was supposedly implied by what BK wrote here. I see no insult of any kind. It is what he said later on... a definition of "Pre-Order". AND... no one knew that "Kurr" was new to the hobby or the boards till after the fact. I seriously hope Kurr isn't so sensitive to take any of this to heart to the point of never returning to the forums. That would be sad.

1st of All ,.. Let me Point a couple of things out to you Bud,.. Since Obviously you have a Difficult Time Reading Posts,.. & wanna Stur the Pot Somemore...

1. Wasn't it YOU that started this Post to Begin with ?
Whats the Intent of that ? Rather than Contacting Dave or Jason to Resolve the matter to begin with ,... you just wanna go & throw a post up about negativity ? The Tittle of your Thread, Scream's Negativity,.. " Problem" ... Hmmmm, " Problem " is an Instant Word that can be related to Something Negative,.. IMO that's a **** Pour Mis used word to stur the Pot,.. Couldn't the Word Question have been Used instead ? I wrote , what I wrote, so this didn't turn into "Another one of those Threads" .. 2. Other than a Movie,.. What Pre-Order has ever come on Time with the Exception of a Movie ?.
I find it very Hard to Believe that in this Day & age of collecting & the Internet, that anyone has never pre-Ordered anything, ever. If it's true, then so be it, ... I am wrong.

3. I am not in anyway shape or Form Affiliated With Castaway Toys.
For the Past few months it seems imo, & remember this is MY OPINION there has been some constant Jabs & shots Taken at these Boys about the whereabouts of a Pre-Order. I personally think alot of those Posts are Not needed, ... These Guys are & Have been working their Balls off to give People new figures in this Scale , & thats Obviously Greater than any of your Posts in this thread. But then again,.. This is my Opinion,.. & I am allowed to have them.

I Gave a General Definition of What a Pre-Order IS. I am sorry that I didn't Sugar Coat it with a Warm Bottle or a Glass of Milk & a Nice Cotton Blanket,.. I will Appologise for that .. But then about an hr After I posted that,.. All of a Sudden KURR shows up Here, about an hr later.. just Joins then Pretty much attacks me for My Post. Weird How that just "Magically" Happened . & I am the Villian,.. Because I then Welcomed the Guy to the Forum ?. From what I saw,.. it could seriously be viewed as I was the One Who was Attacked.

Not needed Jason. We own the fact that it's frustrating, we appreciate the fact that folks are frustrated and that others are patient. It's the nature of the beast so to speak You have every right to express your opinion, and not just because I aggree with it... You are a great guy, and everyone knows it.
