Repairing Big Jim Action Figures

I just received a lot I purchased from eBay and all of the figures are damaged in one way or another. Does know anyone know of a website that illustrates how to repair Big Jim? I'm also interested in any website that has a good resource of information on all the Big Jim series and accessories. Thanks for any help!

I have about 20 Big Jims and a variety of playsets. They are not near as easy as Megos to fix. The legs are pretty easy, but heads are a mess. Sometimes you just gotta weld it back on.

Cool, thank you! I actually reference this site and it's the only one I've found that has extensive information in English. On that site, there is also a link to a website in Germany and Italy that have nice illustrations.

They seem complicated to repair except for the legs.

how do you repair the legs? mine fell out of the socket.

They are a pain to fix.... My Wife was looking at one of mine and accidentally broke the leg.....I just glued it back on and it sits in my collection as an untouchable...

I had to change out Dr. Steel's silver hand once for a plain one 'cos it split right between the fingers. It was a long time ago, but I think I remember it being pretty easy.

I'm not sure if this is the best method but this is how I've done it. I've only had to do it a few times. Hopefully, an expert would chime in if it could be done better.

I would connect the leg by placing it at a side angle to the socket then gently ease it into place. Don't rock the socket because it might snap off. I don't think you want to try and connect the leg head on to the socket. It just doesn't work that way. The lot I purchase had two figures with the socket broken. I think this probably happen because the legs were yanked off. I would remove the leg in the same process of installing it.

I hope that makes sense. Hopefully others will give input.

I'm trying to figure out how to remove a hand from another figure without cracking it. I think once I do that then it seems like I could slide it into the attachment on Dr Steel's arm without difficulty. If you recall the process then please let me know. Thanks Sharry.

Oh man, it was really a LONG time ago, (like 8 or 9 years), but as I recall, the "steel" hand split all the way down the middle between the fingers. I had a "junk" figure (no head, no legs), and I think all I did was gently pull the hand out, so the attachment came w/ it, and then just pulled what was left of the busted hand off w/ the attachment, and then just snapped the new one into the hole.

with the heads I use 2 Burrs (washers)and long thin screw and 3 nuts,and fasten them in a dumbbell type fashion similar to the orginal mount .I soften the the head in boiling water and pop it on the one BURR. other burr in worked into the neck.
if the oringal mounts are still there , soften the head and pull it out, remove the neck piece. drill a hold in the center and place a thin screw in and lock the piece down with a small nut do the same with the other mount, with the 2 remaining nuts.place the "dumbell" in to the neck and pop on the head.

I usually just crazy glue any broken bits and put them on the shelf in a nice suit. Then I go on ebay and buy more Big Jims.

It's a vicious cycle.
