Yeah, he does look like he'd beat about any takers. Kind of like a serious Tackleberry from the Police Squad films!

I can see why he was memorable. He does look like a tough guy. That was some pretty good customizing from when you were a kid!Leave a comment:

Just realized I never posted the finished Toughest Cop figure as I remember him, now finally in my collection. Micheal Buffer is introducing him. LOL

Sorry but I have this weird image of a 30 year old short bald guy showing up at Action Jackson's door... "hello...I am your son.." .....flashback to the 70s Action Jackson and Dinah Mite on a date.If you search, there's a whole thread on it, but here's the Reader's Digest version. The only thing my grandfather ever gave me was a bendy figure of a boxer I named Baldy when I was little. Because he was so short next to my mego's. I made him AJ's son. I lost him and it became an ongoing game as a kid that AJ's son was "missing". For 25 years my brothers and I brought up this childhood memory, then my brother delivered Baldy on Father's Day, 25 years later to be reunited with my old AJ. LOL It was awesome.Leave a comment:

The original picture you showed threw me off. I thought the figure you were looking for had real clothing, not a transplant onto another body. That figure is exactly what I was talking about. I've got him in a box somewhere. Just a straggler from a bulk toy buy years ago.Leave a comment:

i love stories like this- i myself have been looking for a knock off et figure i had as a kid for many years- it was non posable and a greenish color- with the eyes painted blue it was about 3 inches tall.
i love this story tho- it reminds me of the triumph i felt as a kid when i did my first mego surgery and successfully repaired my beloved spidey by taking a leg off fonzie.Leave a comment:

Love it, great story.
After finally tracking this figure down thanks to the help of my friends here, I wanted to offer a brief background on why this toy is so important to me.
Growing up, my playtime with my two older brothers revolved around our mego’s. We called them our “Little Men”. We often traded our figures back and forth, so each of us got to own our favorites at one point or another. But my brother would never dare trade his Toughest Cop!
This toy was bought before I was born, and my brother ripped the head off this toy and plopped it on a type 2 body and dressed him with a LJN Rookie uniform. He inscribed the initials “T.C.” on his helmet and as the legend goes, he beat every single police officer in a street fight to be named Toughest Cop on the Force! He would be his street fight champion and win battles with Zaius, Big Jim and whoever else dared challenge T.C.
No matter what I offered him, he would never trade him away. Ever since I was first introduced to the internet in 1997, I would search for this guy. I knew very little about him and tried various searches over the years.
Even as my brothers are now in their forties, they will often comment on my impressive toy collection by saying “Well you still don’t own a T.C.”. LOL
This figure holds such sentimental memories for me and is such a feather in my cap of collecting to add him to the collection. When this toy arrives, still sealed on card, I can’t wait to immediately rip his head off, throw it on a T2 body and steal some clothes from one of my Rookie guys. I might even make him rough up Ponch and John.
To own my very own T.C. is awesome and perhaps second only to seeing my AJ reunited with his son Baldy (but that’s another story).Leave a comment:
