Gene's head seems too small or his neck is too long. Everything else looks great. The boots are very MEGO and much better in person. -
Mine just showed up. These are great little reproductions of the 12" vintage figures. Very cool.
Did anybody order the 12" versions? I'd love to hear/see how those turned out.Leave a comment:

They are. Still a bit light in my opinion, but much sturdier than the old bodies. The figures are just wound so tight on the inside...they are difficult to pose.Leave a comment:

I'll take some pictures tonight if someone else doesn't get to it sooner.
At first I thought Ace Frehley was really tall, but then I noticed his feet weren't all the way into the boots. Their boot still make them still stand a bit taller than the other Megos.Leave a comment:

Exactly. The smiles far outway the negatives. The collector friendly packaging is a joke. But, who doesn't want to rip these out and play with them!!!Leave a comment:

I would agree with turnbolt's review. These are definitely a step up in quality from their previous figures, but the legs at the hip joint want to do their own thing. These figures are difficult to pose, and take a bit of futzing to get them to stand on their own. But I consider that to be a fairly minor quibble because, on the whole, they're pretty well done and they look great on the shelf with my other re-Megos, not to mention that I am simply ecstatic to have these guys in the classic 8" size. My vintage 12" Gene is rather jealous.
One more note. These are advertised as having packaging that can be easily opened to allow the figures to be taken out and displayed, then later returned to their packaging. That's slightly misleading. The outer clam can, in fact, be easily opened. However, there's an inner plastic tray attached to the card, and the figures are attached to the inner tray with those annoying twisty tie things which are, of course, twisted behind the tray. So, to remove the figure from the tray, you either have to rip the inner tray from the card, or slice into the side of the tray with a knife or scissors, and then un-twist the ties. One way or another, you have to damage the packaging to get them out. Unless you can cut the twisty ties from the front. I didn't do that because I was too nervous about damaging the outfits. The ties were twisted on mine pretty tightly. Anyway, I was a little bummed out about this because I felt a little mislead. But seeing them loose and standing on the shelf brought the smile back.Leave a comment:
